Cynosural Disruption Field Generator

To give Heavy Interdictors an additional role in 0.0, and a nice role in lo-sec, which would work well with Faction Warfare (I think, based on reading FW blogs like Susan Black's).

  • High slot, as per Warp Disruption Field Generator.
  • Cannot be used at the same time as Warp Disrutption Field Generator
  • Cannot be activated in >0.4 security systems
  • Same penalties to ship as unscripted Warp Disruption Field Generator

The principle:
When activated, it generates a 24km area of effect within which a cyno cannot be lit. The accompanying skill, Cynosural Field Disruption, gives a 5% bonus to range per level trained, so train to V gives AOE of 30km. Training to level V allows you to fit the T2 version which bas a base range of 28km (so 35km with skill at level V), and also blocks covert cyno fields being lit.

This would allow you to gatecamp, and then when somebody jumps through who you think has a gang on a Titan waiting to bridge in, you can then get one or more HIC's to bubble up (say a red AEO instead of the blue for warp disruption fields). Each HIC has to make the choice of bubble for cyno or for warp disruption. You then have to try and tackle and hold potential cyno ships within the bubble to stop the gang bridging in.

If cyno spooling is brought it, maybe a cyno could take 5 or 10 seconds to be able to be used once the cyno module is activated, and this could then allow a cyno disruption field to be activated during this "spool up" period to then block the cyno field and cancel the cyno module on the enemy ship - also meaning the LO is not used possibly?

If CCP wants to find new ways to combat force projection and casual hot-drops, this could be a way to help by adding a module to a ship.
