How cute are you? Germany does not have a recent and great military history and so you go looking at other nations and want to tell them "Come on"?

You come on! Get over it. There is nothing to talk about. Start a thread where you talk about Germany's military history before the time of You-Know-Who. Just do not tell people what they shall think of their own histories in lack of your own. You have lost the war and no amount of cuteness will change this.

True, the war did cost many lives on all sides. Our generation is lucky never to have seen it. Wars are good to prevent evil and therefore necessary, but they are not funny, nor amusing, nor entertaining.

More like rebel scum.

I never said the Roman Empire was the largest, just arguing baltec's seemingly infallible view of anything and everything English. I am, however, arguing that the Romans made a much bigger impact and contributed much more to what we have today, judging by just how long ago it was that they made these feats that were nothing short of miraculous at the time...feats that are still relevant today.

Sure, the British Empire brought a sort of civility to many parts of the world and should be commended as such, but they didn't exactly invent the wheel...they just made everyone else's wheels more like British wheels.

Personally, I'm much more thankful for a government in which its leaders are elected than tea and punctuality. And terrible eating habits. And an inability to let go of a 200 year old grudge in which no one really cares apart from them.

The rampant anti-Americanism in England is pure, unadulterated hypocrisy. They don't despise Americans because we're loud, obnoxious, and stupid...there are plenty of those people everywhere. They don't despise Americans because of America's imperialistic tendencies through its military and foreign policies, either. They despise America because they feel England should be leading the charge with its own imperialist foreign policies, and feel they have somehow been usurped by "those savages from the colonies". Everyone should be more like the English in their mind. Ironically, Americans feel the same way about America. Thank the gods the rest of the world isn't like either.

You have to admire their disdain, not just for everyone else, but even themselves. They're nothing if not consistent.

I'll still take that over the flag-waving morons in the states. The English are some of the coolest, most intelligent, funniest, hilariously witty and most civil people I've ever met. The bad side is that they're also the most arrogant, belittling, smug pricks I've ever met as well. They're still trying to use the word "yank" as a derogatory term, as if we didn't think of it as a term of endearment.

Most Americans are too stupid to even pick up on their snide and sniveling loosely-veiled insults towards Americans, which just makes the ones who are pricks that much more endearing to me. Americans typically love the English and find them charming, even while they're being told what fat, dumb, wastes of oxygen they are in ways the average American doesn't even pick up on. It's really mean and spiteful, but goddamn is it funny.

I always tell them, "Yes, we know you're better than us at just about everything, and that everything we have we owe directly to you for birthing us, and that we should all try to be more like you, and that we should all be grateful to you, just like how Americans think the rest of the world should be grateful to America." The look on their faces when they realize their attitude is parallel to the idiot American attitude is priceless, AND how an American has pointed it out to them is even more priceless.

Britain gave America slavery - Bad
American kept slavery a long time - Bad
American descendents of slaves created the blues - Good
The blues created rock and roll and Elvis - Good
Britain imported rock and roll and gave the world The Beatles - Good
America imported The Beatles and created Jimi Hendrix, the Doors, The Grateful Dead, Janis Joplin, Zappa - Good
Britain took it up a notch with Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd - Good
America and Britain simultaneously created disco and commercial soft pop/rock- Bad
Britain spawned The Sex Pistols destroyed disco and soft rock, and saved the world - We all win!

Forget the politicians, this is the real meaning of the U.S.-U.K. "special relationship."

Notice how it said nothing about him being a bad person, only about him being a great military leader.

The only solution is to bombard England from orbit. With nice clean rocks, no nukes, that way we Scots can use whats left of England as a rubbish dump and quarry.



We are also well armed with Gingers. Do not make us use them.
