You should be able to run 2-3 clients on max settings with that

ed: light on RAM, could cause paging issues, allocate 1GB for windows, 1GB per client and then another gig for your music + browser or whatever you do between CTA's, you'll most likely find 8GB the minimum for snappy response while multitasking

double ed: Assumed that 550ti was better than a GTX460, looked into it and apparently that is not the case.
You will certainly run 1 client maxed, but if you want to run a few @1080, your best bet is to create two seperate client directories (just copy/paste it and rename it EVE2), one is your main with max gfx settings, the other is used for your alts, and it's gfx settings should be kept as conservative as possible, disable as many of the subtle gfx enhacements as you can to get a nice framerate.

There should be a rather awesome pic here

Not sure if a GTX 550 Ti will make it. But as long as you're in space and not in large fleet fights you should be able to go partially maxed out. Part from the GPU you're set for quite some time ahead, eve wise, including DX11.

Maybe isn't to much help to you but someone with experience of that card will probably post soon.

With the money you spent on that i could probably have built 2 computers better than tha.

Internet is full of advice regarding pcs, why buy assembled if your not an homosexual hipster who has to go around with a mac?

Yours is not even a mac...

I run 2 clients maxed... locked at 60 FPS on my budget build

GTX 460
4GB Ram
I3-2120

Your PC should have no problem with 3 maxed clients.

Alltho the tone might be lacking, have to agree with this.

Looks like somebody is selling pre-build "gaming" rigs, but skimping on the actual game components.

The 550 is just below what should be considered a gaming card these days, the 560 Ti.

The FX is not worth saving a few bucks on, when you compare it to the Intel alternatives.

And RAM is so dirt cheap now, that everyone selling you a gaming rig with less than 8GB, should be avoided - 'cause they are purely looking at their profit margins.

Tell us what it cost you, and we can build you a rig in the same price-range - you can return that thing you posted once it arrives.

But yeah - it will run a maxed out client @1080p

you guys don't even know what he spent on the PC.
but judging from their website about $700
yea you got ripped off but unless the power supply gives out ( its a junk PSU) it will run 3-4 clients max in space... maybe no in incarna.

Thanks to the folks so far that gave good feedback without being rude.

@ Just Alter- For you information I went to Newegg and priced out this system, and to buy all the parts and shipping it would cost me 10 dollars more than for what I paid for mine, so hmmm.....

Thanks for the feedback on the RAM Copine. I will definitely upgrade it to 8GB first. Also, I only run 1 client (for now).

Someone comes along and asks a simple question and most of the replies he gets is just abuse or nonconstructive. Someone needs to clean up all the scum forming around the corners of this forum.

You will be able to run it maxed, and possibly even run a second client (though you may have to disable antialiasing to do so).

You'll be fine. I only have a duel core and 450GS and can max out EVE (though a slightly smaller res). Might want to avoid massive fleet battles or clouds...

People keep telling you that you will and they are right for the most part.

However if you try maxed settings zoomed in close during a large fleet fight or a plex your card will struggle and don't try running more than 1 account with max settings your card will suffer.

As someone has said thats not a very good spec pc and i hope you didn't pay more than 400 pounds with a lcd screen.

What type of pc you need depends on what you plan doing with it. Hopefully you have not bought that system yet if so let me know what you want to do with your pc and i will help you get the best for what you can afford.

For example my wife mostly just uses facebook, browsing music etc and plays bingo

and her pc can play 1 eve account with max settings
for quickness she has

i3 3.3ghz 8gb ram hd6770 1gb

I however use facebook, browse download music etc and play 4+ eve accts on max settings
i use
i7 2600k 16gb 2 x hd6970 2gb

Some people like intel over amd for cpu and nvidea over amd for gpu or vise versa and will base there advice on that.

Take your time and swat up before you buy it will save you expense and stress later on.

Drop me a mail i'm happy to help.

Ps get a ssd hard drive for windows and eve and a nas or large normal hdd for storage that is a must.

This is the appropriate format for "will this computer . . . " threads. The build laundry list with case, color warranty etc. isnt necessary.

I have a 550Ti 2gb and FPS drops to 20-30 on max in DED complexes not sure if its the card though but a i3 3.1ghz cpu and 8gb ram should be able to handle it? Maybe It's my cheap ass hard drive I can run 3 clients on high settings with 60+ FPS though

I recall one night in a nightclub called the matrix, there I was... Mother of god there I am! Holy f**k.

If you paid more than $600-$700 you were ripped off. It should be able to max Eve though. Eve has pretty low system requirements.
