Cost of pvp after tomorrows patch?

Being a member of a 0.0 alliance, i have seen in alliance chat recently about the cost of fleet fit pvp and how the cost of them is sky rocketing.

I was wondering if ccp doing the incursion/drone region nerfs are a)needed and b)going to ruin pvp(or tame it down).

Personally i have played since 2003, i realise how isk used to be harder to get back then, but now as eve has evolved i feel that the prices 1-2 months ago was more inline with what eve is about(ships blowing up and people lossing isk). Eve is advertised as big cap/bs fleets, but things like moros hull's currently floating around 2.7bil make me wonder just how much harder pvp will be to finance in the upcomming weeks/months when mineral prices really skyrocket.

Seems that the prices of fleet fitted bs's will soon go higher than the price of plex's(if trend continues).

It all comes back.

Serious, in the 7 years I have been playing this game nothing has changed.

- Gank beats tank
- Build a bigger blob

Super Caps were meant to negate blob but because blob works so well, super caps became the blob. They nerfed it but they never nerfed the blob. EVE is Zerg in overdrive and it always has been.

One thing that has changed is that the blobs have become bigger. And that has changed because travel has become easier.

As for the caps, they are just too cheap, making them viable for personal usage instead of corporation-only.

seeing how tengu-fleets became standard for some aliances i think some "downgrade" would be only good for pvp....

At the moment lowest level of ship for 0.0 roams is BC. (I don't speak about t1 trash-gangs and tacklers)
Maybe we will see return of a T1 cruiser?Shocked

SRP, have your very own carebears to keep you happy in ships , and they will be happy too selling ABC on the side.

For alliances that only believe in having a standing army without logistics.
Oh yeh they will be hating life and in about 6 months they will either adapt or be removed.

Since you're an old timer, you'll remember the old days when you thought with your wallet before you undocked, and war was all about breaking the other guys wallet via attrition and small gang pressure on their farming activities, rather than being about crushing them in that one massive fleet battle.

It looks like those days are comming back, and I for one welcome it.

$0.40

Yes.... it's true...PVP is now a micro transaction. You will have to have the required amount of Aurum in the new combat bank section of your NeX tab before you can lock a live target.

This is expected to curb suicide ganking considerably.

I really miss when losing your ship really mattered. That it was very significant. It should hurt when we lose our internet spaceships.

Is it needed?

Yes. You should not be able to mine minerals by shooting at drones. Thats just dumb on so many levels and undercuts a profession that takes serious skill level commitments. I havent run incursions, so I cant say much about it. But others seem to feel that its currently EVE on easy mode.

Will it ruin PvP?

No. People will still blow **** up. Its what this game is about. Prices are about where they should be IF minerals are coming from the source they should be coming from (Real players, not botters and/or drone ratters.)

Go on my son.

Gank more hi-sec miners.

After all, your fine with paying more for each gank, so long as those boring afk miners get ganked in the process...

Eve is about Capital ships, WiS, Boobs, PI and Isk!

I totally agree with these guys. I still remember when losing a ship mattered and the shakes you get when you fly a ship you can't afford to lose.

I hope everything stays expensive. Seeing how cheap everything has been ship kills doesn't matter now.

Ah yes, tell me more about these supercapital blobs.

I expect to see a lot more T3 ships in 0.0 fleets.

Simply because the changes are driving T1 and T2 prices, way more than T3.

No need to launch the troll brigade. Your 800 to 1800 Drake blob will remain in first place as the I-Win button in EVE. Or Tornado fleet or rifter fleet or whatever it is you can bring the most of.
Status Quo is intact.
