How long do you wait for a petition.

I don't think of myself as a heavy complainer even though I do post on the forums:)

I was just wondering what others experience has been. Don't talk about what your petition was about in specifics but like, what kind of petition and how long to get an answer and how long for resolution. IFF Asking about this is against the Eula just lock it and ban me cause no one seems at home on the petition staff anyhow.

My alt filed one on the 16th, it got opened but absolutely no response. Not even something like please wait. I've gotten stupid answers, closes when it wasn't closed, and other stupid behavior that far outweighs the one or two (barely) good responses I've gotten.

Is my experience the norm or has it improved for most along with all the other improvements we've seen.

Oh and how do you escalate one. do you rewrite the whole thing or what?

Is this what they do to shut you up?

In my experience:

In-game petitons, same day to about 2 weeks just depends what type of petition and if an investigation is required (I've not petitioned anything recently though in-game).

EVE website petitions, same day (although I'd not suggest to misuse website petitions).

You'll see from the thread linked by Malaire - I had an issue with an epic arc mission that I just wanted to clear off my logs (Complete the arc, basically) but as I'd ignored it for a few months I couldn't just jump into it again. Took about 2 minutes, I think for a response and resolution?

The only thing I can say is - good luck. I've seen some frivolous petitions raised by people and they do contribute to the work required to get to real petitions.

Is your issue something the forums might be able to answer? (You're here a bit, so you'll know I guess)

Depending on what type of petition it is the time to receive a reply would vary. So something critical to game play or serious like harrassment could be responded to in a matter of hours.

You would be surprised how many useless petitions CCP would get asking general questions like how to do X,Y and Z.

My latest peition is about single clicks making my ship travel in that direction or when in station it opens ship cargo bay or seperate windows for mails and assets and stuff... I dont expect a reply to that petition within the next week or 2 to be honest.

Im fairly sure there is a button somewhere in the petition when it is open to escalate it to a senior GM.

From my experiance a petition is not closed until the submitter either requests it to be, the issue is resolved either by the submitter or by the GM or a response has not been received from the submitter within a certain time frame.

I sometimes see similar behavior when I'm multi-tasking and have a few Virtual Machines open, switch between them, etc. But it happens generally then and whenever I try to reproduce it deliberately it refuses to surface. Not sure if that is any help; but hey! This is the EVE GD forum. Help is overrated P

That logger that we use on sisi might be able to isolate that but I don't know about virtual machines, if it logs whats going on that deep. Are Virtual's like dual booting but at the same time? Are they separate installs on separate partitions? Or do they exist solely in memory? or am I not even close. :)

Personally,
I write a petition, then I review what I've written and think "do I sound like a whiney *****" followed by "was it my fault" if the answer to both questions is no, then I'll hit submit.

failing that I'll go and gripe in the "help" channel

Then I'll read what everyone else is saying and feel better about myself.

Normally, (over the past five years on average) I've waited an average of three hours. Somtimes a matter of minutes, sometimes the next day...for the long and short of it. The shortest were the easiest to deal with, provide a bit of information about a mission I'm running. The longest involved digging into some records.

Recently, due to a lag in the time I conducted a transaction and the results actually appearing in my wallet, I filed one. The wallet registered correctly the next day...I didn't watch it a whole day, when I logged back on it was right. I got an email response and ingame response to my petition about five days later. That was the longest wait I've ever had, but I expected it.

Why did I expect such a long wait? Well, I've been paying attention to the posts in this forum. "Petition it" has been the battle cry since the The Day We Shot the Jita Statue. I expect (as well) the poor Petition Desk is swamped.

I ADVISE people be sure they can't answer their own questions or solve their own problems before they send in a petition. With the new update a day away, expect (as well) another flood of petitions. They're getting to them all - first come first served. The length of the wait reflects the length of the line you're in.

We must accommodate the idiocracy.

Ok, this is my first petition from a crazy minute in time..

"Selected locations, couldn't warp or move... slowly died.. downtime comming arghhh!"

I sent that in what I believe was the last minute before down time so it was kinda rushed and lacking detail.

There I had been, innocently picking up some loot I'd generated by player v's rat pew pew before server shutdown. Then some new rats started shooting. "Hey no worries" I thought. "I'll just warp off" (pretty snappy fit on this ship). But nothing seemed to work. I went to simple mode to out rule stupidity... Slowly select location, select warp... nothing. Select location, select align too... nothing. And repeat with plenty of "WTF?" until dead via dastardly interweb pew pew rats. :P

Still have no idea how it happened but it did. The ship refused to move and there were no objects in sight.

I'll post back with results.

Crazy ****!

Ooh, can I play?
My best one was some bug that made the game unplayable for me. Got advice from at least 4 different GMs that didn't help before one of them finally came up with the solution. 2-3 weeks of not being able to play EVE.

Keep trying, do not give up and treat them fair when possible. Also, they want to be rated so make use of the rating system.

Loss is meaningful. Therefore is the loss of meaning likewise meaningful. It is the source of all trolling.

I don't want to drag this out but your post reminded me that they tend to go towards extremes. I'm either in love or infuriated with them.
