Are these usable in small gang PVP or solo? Havent really seen any other than the occasional machariel flying around.

If they are usable, does anyone have some decent fits or ideas?

General rule of thumb with faction battleships is :

-Yes they are useable in solo pvp and small gang pvp, but if you dont know how to use them or fit then you should probably not be considering doing it.

As far as answering the actual question, both the machariels and the vindi are used pretty often to solo pvp and small gang pvp, the nightmare can solo pvp but is rarely used and the bhaalgorn is used very often in small/medium gang but you have to be loaded/borderline insane (DHB) to fly them solo. Rattlesnake also goes into the nightmare category.

As far as fitting goes, multiple ways to fit all of them you should look around people killboard since listing them all can take long and is highly dependant on what youre going to do with it.

As far as navy faction battleships personnally I think theyre rather meh, some of them are usable, but most often then not theyre just a little step over their t1 counterparts if you really have the isk to put into it. (Dont get me wrong here, they are better, but still 3 times the price of T1 for a little more punch.)

(Edit : After reading the post below the guy is right, the tier 3 BS have become so expensive lately that Navy faction BS have become somewhat viable with how cheap they are)

By far the most used PvP Faction Battleship is the Armegeddon Navy Issue. They don't sell for much more then an Abbadon with comparable EHP more Cap and Damage provided you have good Heavy Drone Skills.

I have seen quite a few of them in small gangs. Mostly do to there cost.

I'm giving thought to investing in navy geddons now before they are bought off the market by alliances willing to swap hellcats around a bit.

The navy geddon has 110 compared to 85 scanres vs abaddon, 350 compared to 450 sig radius, sentries (which can be assigned on single pilot for about as good focused dps as the alpha of the fleets unfocused guns), cap bonus for guns (works without elutriation II) and it's black. At least partially black. They could be called black cats.

It all makes good sense but seeign a battle report with 20 lost baddons is standard these days ... being on the wrong side of one with 20 lost Navy geddons might hurt the wallet the same(ish) but it might be a punch on your pride's proverbial nose...

For small gangs you need a mach for the GTFO purpouse.

Bhaal is heavy artillery compared to it...

Only problem with those is, they are always primary because of being faction :\

Doubtful that an alliance is going to switch over to Ngeddons right now due to supply and demand issues. Plus they've already decided their new fleet doctrine... tempest.

And how is that a problem? If you can say for sure your enemies are going to primary the faction ships the solution seems simple.

That's a weakness of your enemy you need to exploit. Similarly if they always primary one or some of your pilots first thats a massive weakness and its as simple as swapping damage mods for hardeners.

Navy geddons are awesome, and before this bubble they were actually cheaper than baddons for a while.

Neddons might sell for about the same on the market, but you need to consider actually losing them costs you more, due to insurance not covering more than the mineral cost.

That, and you can't just research a BPO and knock them out of factories all day long, supply would rapidly run out if a fleet doctrine for a large 0.0 entity incorporated them.

True. if you have a whole fleet of faction BS it's not bad but if you have a whole fleet of regular BS and then the odd faction BS, the faction BS will die in a fire first. Expensive **** is usually the first to be primaried

Vindi is perfectly fine, if you're willing to spend 3bil+ on fittings. If you're just going to T2 fit it, you might as well be using a Mega/Navy Mega.

So tank the everloving carp out of it, slap logis on it first, and draw their fire while you take out their DPS.

Why would anyone spend that much on a pvp ship? I cant imagine it would make it that much better? Are the fittings more important than the ship? A t2 Faction BS wont work?

2000 DPS and a dual web that can slow an MWDing interceptor down to battleship speed begs to differ.
Vindicator is a brilliant ship. Never flown one, but I'm aiming for one within the next six months. If you're going to spend 1 bill ISK on a PVP ship, then a lot of the fittings are faction. Fed Navy Mag Stabs and webs, Imperial Navy EANMs etc. to just name a couple of things.
Get Legion+Loki boosts just for a laugh.
