im trying to create a website. i have a paid host which has click to install options for joomla. it installs joomla but whenever i try to edit templates etc the whole thing screws up so......... i tried installing joomla using ftp. it installs and i get to the 'delete installation files' i got past this (simply by using the renaming trick however i come to the following error -
Database Error: Unable to connect to the database:Could not connect to MySQL
i have checked all the details i.e. db name, user, password, prefix etc etc but cant seem to get around this.


im looking for someone who can either walk me through the process again to keep me right or get temp access so they can do the install themselves. any help would be great thank you

Temp access sound very much like a bad idea.
What you are prob best doing is posting this in a joomla forum or emailing your web host about the issue.
I never used joomla myself. I host my own and dont use a hosting provider for my web pages.
