Dear CCP: Boost the Primae

Short and simple. The Primae is as usefull doing Planetary Interaction as a Freighter is in PvP.
It's needs a buff, a good buff to actually be used. (Iteron V anyone?)

My suggestions:

1) Link the ORE Industrial skill to the Primea (like it's sibling the Noctis)
2) +1500m3 PI Commodities bay per said ORE Industrial Level, with a 1000m3 base. Accumulating to a total of 10km3.
3) +500m3 PI Command Center bay, with a 500m3 base. Accumulating to 3000m3 (or 6 command centers, which is the max you can control)
4) Boost warp speed, align & agility.
5) Provide mid-slots and low-slots for some defensive capabilities - or speed.
6) Rigs

Please discuss how we can somehow mend, bend and restore some form of functionality to this ship.

Freebie ships always suck. It's tradition.

Fake-edit: Okay, I got use out of my zephyr once. Totally doesn't count, though.

The whole point of this vessel was no skill requirements (like other freebies we have recieved.) If you tie skills to this, then the isk farmers win. Is that what you want? Seriously, it is meant for people starting alts to create PI chains over multiple chars. No idea if thats a good purpose but its what was done.

The free ships are typically sub-par but I like where your head it at. Make a new ship devoted to nothing but PI. We'll call this hypothetical ship the Mesis.

Suggestions 1, 2, and 3) are all great and make the ship stand out.
4) doesn't bring it in line with the Noctis. Unfortunately the Noctis is quite defenseless so must be the Mesis.
5) is a great idea. I would suggest 1 mid slot and 3 low slots.
6) also great. 3, just like the Noctis.

Speak for yourself my interbus shuttle features a 100% increase in cargo capacity over a standard shuttle!


..but seriously CCP have stated they don't want other ships being made redundant by the freebies, they are designed to give people an easy introduction to a new area of EVE (exploration, PI, incursions etc...) so if they like it they can skill for a more specialised ship.

'ooh this zephyr is fun, maybe I'll train for a cov ops and take up exploration as a profession'

I am pretty sure we will see a T2 version of the noctis in the future , most likely a dedicated gas harvester , just my guess , the primae was a free ship from ccp and i tend to agree with the other poster don't expect something from it
You much better of using a simple hauler for your pi or if you really want a transporter for your low sec pi

Why buff a limited edition ship???

As they are not produced ingame and i doubt will ever e seeded again, what is the point? Thats like buffing/nerfing a State issue raven, it will affect barely anyone etc. (or insert applicable very rare limited ship)

They are not going to boost it.

I'm going to go ahead and file this under the same category as the suggestions: Remove High Security, Remove PvE, and Fix Me A Sammich.

I do this not because the suggestion is equally as absurd, nor for any malice towards the poster, but merely because they all have the same likelihood of happening.

In what way would ISK farmers win? I'm struggling to see your point. Same goes for your point concerning PI over multiple characters. You can get Primae's on contracts like it's nothing. So there is no 'real exclusivity' to this ship.

1,2,3 are role specific - inline with the Noctis. I see what you mean with 4, that is where the mid/low slots come into play.

Interesting, as there is no Harvesting specific ship at this point in time.

This really isn't a comparison, as the State Issue was a 1st prize in the 3rd Caldari Tournament (http://www.eve-wiki.net/index.php?title=Raven_State_Issue). It was not a freebie, and in terms of stats - it's is second to none. It's like the Utu and alike: a priceless piece of EVE - the Primea costs 20m isk (on contracts, same price as market for the Noctis) and IS widely available.

I understand the whole point of the Primea, as with the Zephyr and Echelon. Getting people interested in certain fields of gameplay.
But still - If you are trying to interest people into certain fields with ships - do make them of somewhat of use, or create a specialized hull for the task (they've done it with the Noctis/Salvaging and the Orca/Mining - shouldn't be that hard).

No feelings hurt Mendolus. I realize that the chance of this happening is as big as Jita becoming 0.0 - esp. with the way CCP has been 'hurting' this game by focussing on making quick RL money ('micro-transactions').

The zephyr is incredibly useful for salvaging faction loot after a sleeper related "incident"
