Server shutdown notices

Although I am grateful for the regular maintenance, I find the shutdown notices quite irritating and intrusive. The main reason being that it appears as a box in the middle of my screen that I'm forced to click away. Perhaps these messages could be displayed simultaneously in all the chat windows in a bright colour, or in some other way that grabs the attention but doesn't force me to click away something in the middle of my screen.

And yet still people will play right up to the last seconds of daily DT hehe

Honestly the lack of complaints about this over the years says to me that the players are more grateful for it then annoyed by it hehe.

This. And, Xer, would have expected that you would noticed that this is just a fail troll attempt, why would a trial complain about it, must be disposable alt.

Because I give people the benefit of the doubt, especially newbs. And besides, trial accounts are the MOST likely to whine about this. They could be people that have recently migrated from some other MMO and are used to a different maintenance downtime style.

This is my 4th day on the trial and this is something I've noticed that I feel could be improved. Thanks for your 'input' though, J'Poll.

Yes Xercodo, I'm grateful for the regular maintenance but everyone knows it's coming so I feel the notices don't need to be so intrusive.

If it's genuine, I do apologize for my comment.

Point is that still loads of people, even with the current pop up warning don't get safe from harm and complain that they lost ships due to DT. Keep in mind although the servers are down to us, all activity on the server continues, so if NPC rats are shooting at you they will continue doing that during downtime.

The "annoying" pop ups are there to give you an advance warning that you should get yourself safe soon, making them inside chat channel or something means people will just not notice them. And if you are doing PvP where there is also some directions typed in to fleet chat (warp in names etc.) a unwanted change in that means it's just more annoying, mainly as the pop up is selected by default, so soon as it pops up you can hit enter to close it.

I would be much happier if downtime would just curl up and die.

Until that happens, I absolutely agree that those warnings are indeed annoying.

Without Downtime the server will clutter very fast, they need downtime to purge a lot of log entrees

Ya but it's getting shorter and shorter isn't it? =D

Even though official time is 30 min haven't they been averaging about 7 minutes? =D

I would vote for "Do not show again" checkbox.

Well vex your smarter then the average bear. Its annoying because its not meant for you so it gets in the way.

Its there for all the people who wont keep track of down time themselves or dont know about it. Make a post in the Jita park speakers corner as a game design Idea for it to appear in chat windows or whatever. That might be a possibility one day.
