Dust 514 beta keys are out - eve players not included.

The whole point of Dust is to attract a whole new set of gamers to the Eve Universe... not to mas-tur-bate the playerbase that they already have.

Isn't this obvious?

knew i should have lied and said i had PSN+

Also people like me primarily play on the superior consoles and play eve casually... so chill with the "zomg ur not the market " crap.
i simply want to try the beta, see if the game is worth keeping a PS3 for.. if its not i can sell it to my friend and get a new PC
if its great i keep PS3..

Again. They don't care about you. Your already a customer. They want *new* customers that don't know about Eve yet.

Hi everyone,

There seems to be some confusion about the recent beta key distribution by SONY and I would like to clarify some of the misunderstandings. The beta keys handed out recently are for SONY's beta tester group and their job is to stress test the DUST client and servers. This is done so that we can identify major bugs and issues and address them before we open the doors to more players. These beta tests have been on-going for some time now and have been very helpful in improving the game.

We are also in the process of implementing a major patch to the current build and this should be done in very short order. Once we have successfully implemented the patch, we will be letting those with fanfest 2012 redemption codes in first, and then broaden the number of beta players later on.

Finally, we are whipping the hamsters to build a DUST 514 general discussion section on the EVE forums so that in the future we will be able to make announcements such as these to you all sooner. Once again, we thank you for your interest and support for DUST 514, so keep on posting and don't stop believing!

FYI guys, I do know of a number of EVE players that were actually part of the group that got beta keys from Sony.

Is there any reason why you wouldn't let people who signed up for the beta months ago in at or nearly at the same same time as fanfest? The SOON*tm is getting annoying since new groups of people keep jumping in front out of nowhere.

this is all funny to me, i play eve simply for dust, Im what you are calling a Sony noob, however this dream world your living in where PC gamers are better then console is outdated and boring. The fact is the majority of exclusive EVE players will get stomped on by console shooter players. when you do have ur mouse and keyboard for fast easy aim, its another world, in fact in dust you will be in my world if you play and i promise you that you will lose that fight and any fight you come across the clan G|C.

Again. They don't care about you. Your already a customer. They want *new* customers that don't know about Eve yet.

i would be bringing my friends to the party, it would be new customers... none of my friends IRL care about eve, but when i talked about what dust was going to be like they were excited

You realize that EVE isn't a shooter, and that most EVE players wouldn't necessarily be good at shooters?

More importantly, did you know that you can play Dust with a mouse/keyboard. GLHF.
