When can I play EVE in Portuguese language?

I can offer my support on it!

I think a great idea.
It was a way to put some of my friends to play this great game.

I remember seeing statistics regarding the amount of players worldwide per region. Does anyone know where it is?

We (Brazilians) have a quite large community already, but I can't be sure if it's big enough for a client translation.

Well, even if it's not that big, translating EVE to portuguese would certainly attract more Brazilian and Portuguese players ( this market is HUGE ).

@CCP: If you have any interest in doing this translation, please, contact me.

About 178 million+/- Portuguese speakers/natives, not including + 194 946 470 (at this day) Brazil natives who speak Brazilian Portugese.

About 125 million -/+ Japaneese speakers/natives have already a local client Blink

If numbers count in Eve, and my little fingers tells me it does, would be a logic step.

Spanish is the most wide spread language on the planet, I can see it translated to that long before portuguese.

You mean in Portugal Portuguese !? If so, I second this, if not, then you're probably looking for Brazillian !? and not Portuguese.

Brasil and Portugal speak the same language.
The differences are subtle, like regional accents.

No, quite wrong, Brazillian has alot of different grammar than Original Portuguese...

Although one could call Brazillian a Portuguese dialect, it evolved so much and has so many terms adapted from english that makes it quite diferent than common Portuguese.

*EDIT*
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brazilian_Portuguese

I approve 2 different translations, Portuguese and Brazilian. Doing a Brazilian translation and call it Portuguese (Like how WoW did) is an insult to the Portuguese people and language.

Except that Portuguese and Brazilian Portuguese have been merged a while ago.

The accent is really different, some words are used in different ways, but it is all regional differences. Grammar is the same, language is the same. Traditions are different.

What has been made in WoW involves joke translations that make sense only in Brasil, so there lies your confusion.

If you saw what happened with the Japanese client and the 3rd party company they now have to pay, just be careful what you wish for.
