EVE New Citizens Q&A

I'm enjoying busting out my destroyer (Coercer) and clearing out some high sec anomalies (up to the cruiser-heavy Forsaken Hideaway) every once in a while. How do AFs compare? I looked up a couple Retribution fits, and only if I use T2 ammo (Conflag) do I pull ahead on DPS over my meta0 mods/meta3 guns destroyer, at about the same range. T2 ammo = expensive, especially when you're chewing up 4 of them at a time. But they are faster, and presumably harder to hit, so they seem like more fun to fly around. The destroyer gets, uhm, destroyed, in the more populous anomalies, like Dens and Hidden Hideaways, because there's lots of little frigs spawning all over the place, would an AF do better there?

These days destroyers really are high dps, the only real use for AFs in PVE is their speed & sig radius and, if applicable, their T2 resists. Thing is that Amarr T2 resists focus on minmatar damage types, so if you do exploration in amarr space it doesn't do you much good and would you go to minmatar space then your lasers would suck hard.

If you want to spend some cash on high sec exploration then get a Navy Omen, that's an awesome ship for it.

Well, the anomalies aren't that difficult, anything from lvl 1 to 3 I'd say. Thing is that anomalies isn't where the isk is, it's the DED and escalations from combat sites. One of my guides talks about it, link it in my sig.
