"Ship rebalancing" in Escalation/Inferno- when will we get it on SISI?

John Lander (Senior Producer of Eve) made mention of "ship balancing" that is due for Escalation and Inferno. When are we going to get to test the changes? The implementation date for Escalation is less than a week away and the changes aren't on the test server for the players to vet and advise CCP if there have been any catastrophic errors in design (of which historically, there have been far too many).

So CCP, when are we going to be able to test the design changes? A week is far too little time to effectively test the changes, give feedback and iterate on the design a few times. Additionally, even if there are no changes for Escalation, the amount of time between Escalation and Inferno in May is still too little time for there to be any effective testing and iteration on the game design.

Prediction: CCP makes changes, gives players little or no time to provide feedback, players provide feedback and then CCP does what it was going to do anyway, ignoring any/all feedback.

The ship re-balancing is going to be a slow burn class by class. its not going to be done for inferno. Read the blog about it again, more slowly.

Any of it, no matter how small, should be on the test server as soon as possible. Preferably yesterday. Read my original post more slowly.

Cant test changes on SiSi for things that don't exist for escalation. Wait for the blogs and wait for the changes which were "soon™". So don't have an aneurysm about testing time, they know major changes like how ships fly is a big pill for players.

They made T3 Tengu's's better? What's next giving T3's even more command bonuses to further bury the command ships?

I have bad news. After the tri-conductive neutron semi-injectors sent the pneumatic limiters into a collapsing power cascade there was a catastrophic doorknob malfunction

What about the entire racial DD and BC skill structure? When does that get on Sisi?

When they are near finished with ship rebalance, or at least the BCs (along with a new dessie if they can think of one).

New dessie that has very little offensive ability, but massive web range bonus.

Pair it with a regular dessie, and you have a proper anti-frigate/interceptor defense.

A good possibility. Other interesting possibilities include:

True Destroyer Class

Heavy Bomber: Non-cloaking but with two bomb launchers, AF resists, and several small weapon mounts for self defense.

Picket Destroyer: Has the ability to tractor Sentry Drones in a bubble around itself and make them mobile.

Interdiction Destroyer: AF resists, bonused similar to an Interdictors focused point only but with longer range, no bubble capability.

Missile Destroyer: AF resists, Cruise Missile platform, heavily bonused toward Cruise missile speed, explosion velocity, explosion radius. Designed to be very effective against fast targets with small sig radius at long range.

Point Defense Destroyer: AF resists, only ship able to mount a module that allows defenders to be automatically fired at ALL missiles or combat drones inbound on it's FLEET.

Corvette Class: Destroyer Hull but specializing in speed and low sig radius rather than resists.

Corvette Class: Optimized for close range small weapons, near interceptor speeds achieved with After Burner bonuses.

Heavy Corvette: A Destroyer sized version of the Tier 3 Battle Cruisers, fast, long range, able to mount Cruiser sized weapons.

EW Corvette: Fast, AB bonuses as per above, optimized to use racial EW and/or boosting electronics of gang mates.

Logistics Corvette: Fast, AB bonuses as per above, uses specialized mods to significantly increase a ships own repair capability. Makes vessels with repair rate bonuses very difficult to take down.

Area Denial Corvette: Fast, AB bonuses per above, bonused to efficiently run multiple small (range and damage bonused) smartbombs indefinately.

Just a few options I've been thinking about for Destroyers. Smile
