If you think they wont you are wrong

Protesting in jita is one thing, crashing the server non stop is considered an attack on CCP itself, not eve online and by law can be dealt with easily enuff with a alliance wide ban.

Gives u summit to think about no?

I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if thousands of goonies suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced!!!!

Somehow I seriously doubt that. They couldnt even ban mittens for **** anyone of US WOULD get permabanned for

GM Homonoia: Suicide ganks are a valid and viable tactic in EVE.

I'm pretty sure the attack on Jita on the 28th will not affect me.

Why?

Because I won't be there, simple.

...and no I didn't listen to the podcast.

Why?

I don't care enough about the Goons or Jita to listen.

I loled at people saying CCP will "take action against goons" if they crash the server.
How about the fix their damn code so it doesnt crash....

There is no Bob.

TL;DR

Avoid Jita.

Jita will be filled with expendable alts - All watching local.
The only interesting thing Goons could do, now, is not show up.

If the node crashes and those participating in Burn Jita weren't intentionally trying to crash the node then it would be CCPs fault.

Any form of intervention by CCP in this matter would mean they would be taking sides and killing the whole sandbox thing they are trying to have going.

So many new games out there. Let them work their asses off while everyone else laughs theirs off playing other games.

Get the average players logged in, count down to 10k and CCP might have to scratch a beard or three.

Nope I don't see you getting there either so nothing will change, your fears will result in zero changes to the game by such events, not even sure why there is so much FUD (fear uncertaincy doubt) being cast.

Assuming goon Alts (cheapest method to get self fullfiling prophecy)

There are good ships,

And wood ships,

And ships that sail the sea

But the best ships are Spaceships

Built by CCP

like they took action against BoB all the times they force crash a node so they could jam in first once it came back up

no, even that wouldnt be interesting
It would be followed by Mittens crowing "even when we dont go to Jita we get CCP's attention and stop trade"
Like he's doing "even banned im blahblahblah"

They will reinforce the node.

Isn't it permanently reinforced?

Actually Jita is already on it's own dedicated and reinforced node so there's not much more reinforcing CCP can do other than to limit the # of players allowed in there, i.e. "traffic control".

/hands knobber some tinfoil

They can add as many as the datacentre can give them. I think they just call it reinforced because it contains more blades than a standard node.

Either way, if it crashes, its CCP's fault. Remember, this is player driven content here. Exactly what EVE is about.

Hi, Zora'e here, just thought I'd drop in and give my not very humble and psychotically arrogant opinion.... Blink

This is gonna be fun. I hope Goons take some good videos and slide them to YouTube so I can watch them. My system is kinda old so i'm sure it will choke and die if I try to slip into Jita to watch all the fun... So Goons who have good systems.. set up a live stream or something so we can get our virtual fap on!

Personally i'm not a fan of large corps or alliances (not so good around a lot of people, even virtually) but this is the kinda stuff I got into eve for. The sandbox. The fact that any odd happening can and sometimes does have game wide effects.

Gonna be interesting to read the forums when this goes off.

*Brings out 50 gallon kettle and starts making KettleKorn for everyone....*

The timing is pretty good for me as well as I have a 10 gallon batch of home-brew that will be ready to bottle Friday or Saturday.

Since EVE's solar system code is all single-threaded, throwing multiple blades at the problem does nothing.

What CCP does have is a few "super" nodes which have higher clock speeds, are dedicated to a single solar system, and some of the top-end nodes are over-clocked and water-cooled. Jita runs on its own dedicated node 24x7. When you notify CCP of upcoming fleet fights, they move that solar system off a shared node and onto one of the dedicated nodes, possibly even onto the super-cooled and over-clocked node.

In a players driven content it's up to you to do something about Goons and Jita burning, not CCP. If you can't then you can always go to Dodixie or Rens.

The bit I'm interested to know is, if a large proportion of the Goons are tied up in Jita which alliances will take the opportunity to sneak in and do some damage to the Goon systems.

In other words if the fat cats are away will the mice come and play in their sandbox?

there's No. Way. the Goons would evah be expecting that. Nope. Never in a million years would they have their entrance systems and choke points camped, bubbled, and garrisoned.

Let's send all the n00bs into Goonspace to have a party! It'll be SUPER safe!
