I think the question here is, WHY were collectibles deleted?

Were they somehow a potential balance problem? Were people USING these things in ways they should have been able to? If that's the case...render them useless. Make them true collectibles that have no functional value at all.

What other excuse is there? Database clutter? Really? A few hundred thousand items in a game where individual players own more than that?

Your item database possiblity is quite real though

Every new ship they introdcued ate a previous ship slot and ohm nommed the original entry with the interation we see here

The mines are likely to be reinstated; the drones I don't have any plans to reinstate right now as there doesn't seem to be any clear sign that they were being intentionally distributed, and names like "Improved UNUSED" make me wary. I am of course open to further discussion on this issue, but we had a lot of types caught in the sweep that very definitely *shouldn't* have been in player hands, and we're generally erring on the side of caution in this regard.

Also. Not. Amused.

At. All.

In fact... quite not amused. Would like my Mine BPOs and Capsules back CCP. Evil

So my capsules are still in my hanger.

Missing:
Cobra Mines (lots of them)
ASP Mines (lots of them)
Python Mines (lots of them)
Anaconda Mines (lots of them)
Python Mine BPO
Anaconda Mine BPO

I would like to know how many alliance tournament ships are in the game. They aren't cheap you know... running at about 60 PLEX a piece currently. I mean... I'm no Entity but I have about 380 PLEX worth in unique ships. If you guys are injecting more into the game because you are making mistakes again I would think the least you can do is tell us what you did. How many Mimirs are there going to be now? How many runs did you give each BPC? Is it 40? Can I have 40 of each ship?

Anyone that popped convoys back then will be able to tell you those mining drones dropped by the thousands, along with Harvester Drones (why not delete those too while at it?)

The hellhounds were unintentional drop in missions but CCP fixed them and stated they will not delete them:

Give me back my stuff.

My capsules are still in a station warehouse. Chribba said he had some confiscated by CCP though... so I would check your hanger. They are still in the TQ database though.

Shouldn't have been in player hands, but by your own companies negligance are. Deleting something that players obtained, within the game rules, and then nearly a DECADE down the line coming along and saying "tough ****" you're not supposed to have them, EVEN though we made them avaible to you in the first place is absolute BS.

I'ts not like anyones out mining in the belts with stupidly rare mining drones gaining an extra ore every now and then compared to Harvesters. These are legacy items, obtained legitimately by players, traded amounst collectors. I spent years looking for my Elite and Improved UNUSED drones. I spent billions of isk obtaining them, legitimately, years ago. And you deleted them from my hangar for no other reason than "sry bro, we made a mistake 10 years ago you're not supposed to have these".

CCPS shortcoming in game design, game coding, and enforcing of such IS NOT my problem. You made a mistake by allowing these to be obtainable, punishing me directly because of your mistake is BS and you know it.

GIVE ME BACK MY ITEMS.

Welllll, do you see "Collector" on the list of CCP-approved sandbox careers on the new eveonline site? No. So STFU, your occupation is invalid, who cares how much time and effort you put into it and about the depth to the EVE gameplay and community it's introduced.

Ugh, RollRollRoll, since you complained enough you can have some drones back, I GUESS. Damn that post from 2005 that says Hellhounds are legit.

Basically, if Greyscale doesn't know about an item, it's invalid. Because you see, Greyscale is actually just an AI application, able to converse using natural language and it stores all information about all items in eve along with their histories, how they ended up in the game, etc. Seriously, if he doesn't know about it, it's not a real item. The drone thing was just a test of human collectors' memory. Your other legitimate claims of items' validity are null and void.

And the UNUSED? I spent 3 billions to acquire 2 x UNUSED ones. Or at least, could you replace those with HELLHOUNDS or something equivalent in value or rarity? I am sorry, but I generate my ISK via burning actual cash. This kind of random deleting discourages folks like me from ever purchasing PLEXs.

I also had some of these, and would like to see them replaced with -something- even if you want to get rid of the ugly UNUSED string. I'm rather disappointed that you had a disregard for collectors, as well as the fact that in a market-central game that most of these items are probably not in the hands of whoever original "got" them, no matter how that happened. Please take more care in the future when making decisions that will affect how people play your "sandbox" game.

Where is the list of all deleted items?

I collected a lot of things - ship logs, prostitutes, etc.. that no longer drop and I cant find them now. I'm PISSED and unlike a lot of these people I'm in Iceland and perfectly willing to show up at somebodies door to ask them why stiff I paid real money for in terms of subs/plex is suddenly gone.

Whats the point of keeping my subs if its going to go poof?

You have violated the trust.. and I want my stuff back, and a list of all the item types deleted.

google is your friend mr. greyscale...

If you take 10 or so minutes, make use of google, you'll be directed to threads on your old / closed forums which discuss how and where these items came to be, and it shows you that even in 2005 some of these items were being traded at over 150m isk a piece....

It's a shame that such amazing talent that exists at CCP isn't better tempered by caution and reason. Time and time again, great ideas ( cleaning out unused crap is a great idea, truly ) turn into fiasco's because of how they are implemented rather than what they actually do. In this case, a little research could've shed some light on the things that were concerning you, ---- but to try to make inferences about the stuff by looking at the names?

really?
are we fckn lazy or just fckn add?

I too want my mines and respective blueprints back.

There have been so much great posts here already about collecting items and bullshitting fanbase so I dont think I need to add anything on that issue.

If you would only think once before removing something, maybe have a look at "Spaceship Command" and then let me know what reason there would be to make it available ingame anyways.
