Hello all, a brand new Eve player here. Just wondering is there an easier way to target hostile ships besides clicking on them? In other MMO's you can press buttons like tab and it targets the nearest enemy. Just wondering, thanks for the help!

CTRL + Click to lock a target.
You can't tab through your targets like in other mmos because of the lock mechanic.

There is an auto lockback function in the esc menu, also some mod called an "auto targeter" of which I have no idea what it does but it sounds like something that targets things automatically

Hold down Ctrl and click the overview - you can queue as many targets as your ship/skill stats will permit.

It works like aggressive drones do, it'll auto lock targets that are already flashy red.

Little pro-tip : Set auto lockback to zero or sooner or later it will cost you your ship due to Concord or unwanted agression.

Gezzler Use the overview to target your enemies.

Auto lockback has gotten me into trouble on more than one occasion. Its one of those helpful default setting provided by CCP that ends up screwing you in the long run.

Just like to add my support to those saying disable auto target back. It will get you into trouble sooner rather than later.
