Wormholes...

Dark, full of surprises and certainly dangerous!

Surprises is just what we of TDR experienced today.

Together with other pilots from Ineluctable, TDR pilots were conducting an Operation against inhabitants of the J213058 unknown system. As a part of our strategy we had assumed control over the wormhole leading to known space.

There was an engagement with pilots from "Narwhals Ate My Duck" and we destroyed one of their Battleships, an Apocalypse class to be exact.

After having achieved absolute control over the field and in the middle of our placement of ships, we somehow had missed that our specialized craft wich was outfitted with advanced scanners, did not accompany us on the unknown side of the wormhole... And then it happened.

Our opponents engaged their warpdrives and entered the wormhole with very heavy armor type Battleships, thus collapsing the wormhole and our passage to known space!

There we were, trapped... No scanners on any of our ships.

Our little mistake resulted in what would be seen by the crew on all of the ships as certain doom....

Never again to see families, never again to meet the people they knew, stuck in an unknown part of space forever, facing death by overloading the warp core.... A quick and painless death at least.

Just as we were ready to accept the loss of our entire fleet & crews, one man stepped up... Alone, he carried out the strategy we quickly came up with in absolute despair.

The scanning craft was stuck in known space, together with the forces that had collapsed the entrance to the wormhole, signing our death warrants.

Without delay, he began following one of the pilots from our previous engagement, pilots that were eager to get back into the unknown space that was very known to them.. Eager for revenge of the loss they had suffered at the hands of our fleet.

He led the scanning craft straight for the target, straight for our salvation... There was hope once more to escape certain death!

The process was long, the difficulties of following one marked pilot through 20 starsystems with many gates in the same direction can only be imagined...

Finally there was a bright light at the end of our valley of demise! He found the area where our opponents had detected a new wormhole to the unknown areas of space wich our fleet was stuck in.

Rapidly deploying scanning probes to find the wormhole, it became a battle against time as the enemy forces were massing back into their part of the unknown regions of space...

Lady luck favours the bold, Aedun Sole rescued the entire fleet by tracking an enemy pilot to the new wormhole, saving us all from the loss of crew & ship and he is thus held as a Hero of the Corporation.

Aedun Sole, being one of our best pilots has once more proven the skill to solve a situation that would otherwise be impossible, with time and odds against him we were rescued and we are thankful.

Suitable decorations have already been handed out and there will be a banquet to celebrate the fantastic crews & leaders of all those involved in this, to us, unique situation.

Salutations sir, you rescued us all.

Congratulations to the Pilot.

Also, shameless, shameless Corp promotion.

He saved our bacon for sure.

Epic save there, having lived in WH's for a long time i know what getting stuck usually means but aedun showed epic loyalty and dedication to his fellow pilots. Something TDR expects from every one of its pilots.

I for one am very very happy seeing as i might have forgotten to update my clone lately ;P

Not one other ship with at least a core scanning system? Shame.

Under no circumstances should a probe ship ever leave the WH system where the fleet is. Ever. It should be the first ship in, and the last one out.

Your scanning pilot's act of redemption hardly covers that dereliction of duty.

The only time I ever broke that rule was when the fleet I was going in with was planning on killing me. I knew what they were up to when they all arrived on time at the same time, something they were never capable of doing before that.
