- Morning Prayer: CCP DROPBEAR

As an Amarrian I do like the nice scripture at the end although I don't know where they are heading with this one.

http://www.dust514.com/en/chronicles/article/2425/morning-prayer

Let us pray.

I would however like alot more background/technical info, I think it would appeal to a wider audiance to then these Chronicles.
Although I must say they are very good, like the Stranded ones also.

- The Collection:: CCP HEADFIRST

A very short one, but then again it seems not all battles last a long time in dust 514 :).

http://www.dust514.com/en/chronicles/article/2902/the-collection

I like it though, the art on the chronicle page was interesting to and the fact that apparently you can fight on lava worlds also.

Who said that Stranded was over? Must remember to ask CCP Shadow if that's the case.

But yes, awesome chronicle by CCP Dropbear, and I posted it first. ( https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=104324#post104324 )

This was a piece I wrote quite a while back. Just a standalone snippet that came put of the question "what happens if they turn bad?"

I'll poke Shadow about what's next, but he may not be forthcoming. The man moves in mysterious ways. I never thought this little thing I wrote many moons ago would ever see the light of day, so who knows? Shocked

P.S In fact I wrote it so long ago it was like reading an old story you forgot about. For days I was wondering what the hell I was thinking with that quote at the end. What was so heretical in it that it would be placed in the Apocryphon?

P.P.S I figured it out in the end.

I read -all- of the eve chronicles and fiction, as well as both books.. But memory fails me.

Apocryphon!?

Already poked him on twitter, he said he'll check with CCP Remnant.

Apocryphon!?

Apocrypha

The apocryphon is an ingame book, appears in an amarr cosmos mission, and is mentioned in the showinfo of Sahtogas star system.

Apocryphon

It's one of the books important to the blood raiders/sani sabik

Just the facts.

These little jewels are one of the things that got me into the EVE universe back when I had a primal fear of MMOs and didn't even want to hear about them. That's how well-written they are! Big smile

I'd love to see the EVE Chronicles come out of their hiatus, they were just too epic. Each and every one of them made me think "holy crap, I didn't expect that!" at least once or twice.

Someone please explain to me the difference between DUST chronicles and EVE chronicles because I can't see it.

On the question why the Amarr stopped liking the passage maybe they came to the conclusion that not all life is created equally holy?

BTW. Forks are not needed in this thread.P

Reading the two passages we now possess from the Apocryphon I think it is true, Auwnie; according to the Apocryphon all beings are equal and the Amarr are no better than anybody else. Theology like this would seriously undermine the justification of the Reclaiming.

It might seem a bit strange that an organization like the Blood Raiders and Sani Sabik would follow teachings of equality but I can see possibilities.

Not sure there is a huge difference, other than the general focus.

And, yep. Smile

I saw what you did there, Dropbear:
Quote:
I wonder if that is why they have come here. I wonder if revenge is what brings these monsters out here to the deserts and dust, far from anywhere of significance.

.. Also appeared on the dust514 website quote list before the actual website launched.

Hm, even with "confirmation" from Dropbear I am still reluctant to include this information on the preaching of the Apocryphon in an IC way through the AJ project even though the possibility is present.

First of all it is completely unknown just how familiar capsuleers are with the writings (I expect the common population know nothing) and what they know about the ways the Blood Riders interpreted the book. How much of the Burning Lifes description of Blood Raider society is IC knowledge?

Secondly, this kind of profound publication would maybe create more drama than I can stomach. Both from Amarr players but also from Sani Sabik players who portrait the religion as being exclusive and extravagant though apparently the Apocryphon preach the opposite. I only beat people I dislike with prime fiction.

Still, the two passages can be interpreted at least both ways (regardless of any confirmation) so maybe it can be presented speculative enough to be used.

I've always gone on (sometimes at length, with confusing metaphors) about "All being welcome" and so on.

Wrote up a thing a while back about the particular interpretations that my corp use.

You'd be surprised how much this happens in real life. And I'm not talking only about the propaganda, but also about beliefs and conducts in general.

You should try and read up on the history of the more "heretical" organisations in eve and the events that surrounded them with the tetrimon cult and sani sabik storylines during live events.

There is a whole host of not so appreciated cults outthere that go against imperial teachings because they do not respect the "powers that be". You could compare them to the Kathars in some cases.

In any case if find that the writing skills of both Dropbear and Shadow are quite impressive, I'd love to read more!

The morning prayer confused me a bit, but that is probably because im stupid. the collection on the other hand is in my oppinion a very well writen story, i particualy like how CCP have shown that you can fight on different types of planets.
