Depends on what you're doing, in some cases adults can play with food too. Of course in those cases children are definitely not allowed. Cool

I'd put that as alternative consumption method and not playing. Lol

Dunno where my post went, heres how it happens...

Your pod becoming breached is the catalyst.

Then, the pod takes a brain scan of your brain.

The brain scan is so brutal its literally crippling, which is why the pod injects poison that instantly kills your brain the nanosecond the scan is done.

The pod transmits the brain scan results and self destructs.

No magic involved. Or greasy ass elves for that matter.

Just how much did they really have to smoke?

The Vorta of DS9 were all cloned repeatedly. Jem'Hadar were raised in "birthing pods".
Traveling vast distances via wormhole was also a big part of DS9.

In the Lexx series, there were various references to "the protein bank" in the first 4 movies before the destruction of The Cluster.

The mysterious weapon used by the Amarr seems similar to the MD from "Ender's Game".

It would probably take an entire book to go through all Eve technology and concepts and find from what series or book it came from - something I would reserve a case of beer and a long thread for.

EVE isn't a plucky happy go lucky universe. It's grim, dark, sadistic, and brutal. And especially in a picky business like cloning, the standardized clone theory would be good for profits. Of course that's just one company, and gives a general idea of the business. My backstory is I still have my natural home grown orignal body in storage...it helps ease the horror of using clones.

Doh. I always thought that clones where created from cell samples and where grown out at an accelerated pace from a zygote until their development matched that of the original body (much as real world cloning goes, just without a need to wait for years until the clone is grown-up). The idea of being a reanimated corpse taken over by a culture of my cells (kind of a hi-tech zombie) makes death quite unappealing and disturbing... I was happier to not know that, really. What?

It does kind of make sense, though.. Even if you consider accelerated growth, it'd still be weeks (or days, if you're really advanced), before a clone would be matured. Whatever biomatter gets left over from corpses is either used for Quafe (the ever so popular soft drink in New Eden) or clones, it's simply a matter of efficiency over the possible indigestion of an over-sensitive egger.

There was a chronicle of a team of salvagers who hunted for corpses, too, but I forget the name and can't seem to find it fast enough to link.

that's why i stored in cryostasis my original Body and start using a new clone just for everyday .

Also i may be quite wrong but wasn't the Protein bank a huge mass of Processed corpses from the executions in the cluster to feed first the Lexx and later the gigashadow?

I’m not a fan of role playing. I mean the lore loving, olde English speaking, socially inept, forever single type of role playing but I do like the rationalization behind my game to be sound. Eve, being a science fiction based game demands more believable back story since it is based on reality and not magic!

So when they had to explain how you survive dying….WTF were they thinking!

I’m in a pod of jelly and if I get killed the pod detects the exact moment before my brain shuts down, records a copy of my consciousness, injects me with a lethal injection then sends my recorded consciousness to a space station where a cadaver….I fkin cadaver! Which looks just like me has my consciousness uploaded to it and here I am. Alive and well in some other tvats body.

What were CCP smoking?

Well that is a shame.

I think Role Playing should be done by everyone at least some point in EVE.

And i think YOUR time to do it is right now.

So why don't you role play as an Amarrian in prayer? You do know they are silent for exceptionally long periods of time, right?

I think you role playing as a silent praying Amarrian would be a beacon of hope for us all.

Hey I did that, my original body has never been destroyed and is stored away as a jump clone that I won't use. So when I get podded it's just my clone, and this works for both fiction viewpoints.

Either my consciousness is really transferred from body to body, in which case I'll always be me.

Or I'm still in my original body and a clone of me is flying my ships, in which case my memories, or copies of my memories really, are transferred from clone to clone. If I ever activated my original body again, my original mind would be flooded with all of these copied memories that really happened, but not to my original body, not that it matters because to me it would be as though I really experienced them, which I didn't, my clones did.

So either way I've never really died, because my original body is still intact and frozen. Well this was the case when becoming a pod pilot didn't involve euthanasia, but even then jump clones exist for regular people, so I could have easily jump cloned into a new clone and had that euthanised... but than the whole euthanasia thing just seems pointless and added for shock value, in EVE there would be nothing stopping you just jump cloning into a clone with all of the implants already installed.

Now THAT would be something to see.... EVE with Advanced D&D 3 rules..

* Alvis Queen rolls 1d4; a glancing blow dealing 20 damage
* Your group of Tachyon 2's roll 4d20; wrecking for 4527.3 damage
* Alvis Queen rolls 2d6; You save with hardeners, taking half damage, 35 damage
