In an attempt to force more fighting

If you get a lock on a target, and it warps off; you should be given the option to follow that ship into warp and land somewhere in a randomized range (possible skill) "Warp trajectory prediction"

mind you that the ship will be several seconds ahead of you + alignment time

that's it.

Hey, sometimes the fish gets off the hook. We all have to deal with that concept regardless of our play style.

Mission Runners - sometimes have to abandon our drones and bug out, and repair armor and hull at cost.

Miners sometimes lose a bit of their haul to ore thieves

Ore Thieves sometimes spend hours looking for prey and there are no jet acnners out there

PvP'er sometimes lose their prey because they warped out, or outran their opponenet

What you're asking for is "easy mode" pvp. "If I can't scram them, I'll just keep them locked up and warp to their location again".

It won't help when they warp to a station or gate, now will it?

I think this could be salvaged as an idea, but this would require a balance in order to work.

It would be more reasonable if ships had a panic warp button, one that had a preset which you could adjust the same way you set the keep at range or orbit options.
(Recommended ranges would be in thousands of KM, sending ships off their previous grid at minimum)

All this would offer pilots, to be specific, is the ability to consider themselves instantly aligned. They still need to be moving fast enough in that direction. (It would also cancel any turns when activated, if the player makes his ship change direction before it is moving fast enough to warp, the panic warp would be cancelled in order to obey this latest command)

Any ship moving at 75% speed or better would almost instantly warp, unless someone had a point on them.
(It won't stop jamming by points, just allow warping in whichever direction you had been pointed in at that moment if your ship met all the other requirements to enter warp)
