Question regarding the Tengu and Caldari PVP

I'm training towards a Tengu, and I am just a few days away from being able to fully fit it t2. I plan on roaming through either c2 or c3 wormholes with my alt (who will be piloting a cloaked orca as sort of a mobile pos) with the eventual goal of joining a wh corp. With that in mind, I am wondering what ship I should be using for pvp in a wormhole. This will almost certainly be gang pvp, as I don't intend to search for fights while flying solo. Would the tengu be an acceptable ship for group pvp in wormholes/low sec? And if so, can anyone recommend a fitting. From what i have seen, most people recommend Heavy Assault Launchers. I am able to fit t2 heavy missiles but unable to fit t2 heavy assault missiles. Should I start training for that too, or will i be able to make it with heavy missiles instead? Thanks in advance.

Looking at your record on battleclinic I would strongly, STRONGLY advise you to fly something other than a tengu for your first outings into pvp

From your record you
-have been killed eleven times
-have zero lifetime kills since 2007
-have been podded in hisec twice
-don't use rigs on anything
-spent most of your time in an npc corp

This leads me to believe that you've been playing on and off (mostly off) without any proper pvp experience for going on five years now. You've probably recently resubscribed. You have a poor grasp on basic mechanics (getting podded in hisec, especially without smartbomb involvement, is evidence of this). Your missile support skills are probably lacking since you're just training into a t2 fit tengu; you probably just trained the requirements on the 'show info' page.

From this, I'm going to give you a piece of advice that will probably save you a world of hurt. Don't fly the tengu in pvp. You're not ready for it. Shiny expensive ships don't make up for a lack of experience. You'll probly end up dying to the first ballsy assault frig that crosses your path.

Instead, you should buy some cheap ships. Since you fly caldari, buy 10 or so kestrels, look up a full proper fit, and go loose 10 of them in lowsec or npc null. Next, move up to cruisers. I would honestly train for a t1 fit arbitrator or a rupture (this should take a day or two tops) as the caldari t1 cruisers are pretty bad (imo). Both of those ships can punch well above their weight class.

Or you could skip cruisers entirely and go to nano-drakes. You probably already have half-decent skills for them. For the price of that tengu you planned on buying, you could get 10 or more nano-drakes. You'll get more pvp experience, and you'll have a better chance of killing something because you'll actually have some experience at this point.

You should also join a player corp that has some more experienced pvpers.
