Close Range Kinetic Projectile Ammo

o/ all, its just come to my attention that projectiles don't currently have a close range ammo with the most damage based on Kinetic. As currently we have Emp, Phased Plasma and Fusion doing mostly EM, Therm and Explosive but wheres our kinetic, at the moment we have Titanium Sabot as our most Kinetic ammo but thats a mid range ammo which if you do some EFTing on a target, that say for example guristas you do more damage with phased plasma which is a Thermic based ammo than the kinetic based ammo that is Titanium Sabot which to me is kinda dumb.

When pvping in a ship with projectiles as im sure pvp pilots will back me up, you carry the following Phased plasma, EMP, fusion and barrage and sometimes Hail which is again a explosive based ammo. Also all pvp pilots know that if you go up against minni ships they are normally most vulnerable against kinetic ammo due to there low base shields and kinetic resists and normally there explosive hole is filled, which is why drakes normally beat hurricanes, a new damage ammo could be useful

So what I was thinking is if ccp could think towards releasing a CLOSE range kinetic ammo, something on the lines off blunt force

Interesting fact... Guristas are weak against both Kinetic AND Thermal damage. Phased Plasma deals both. Titanium Sabot deals Explosive (primarily) and Kinetic (secondarily).

True they are but weaker more too kinetic and please learn your ammo's before commenting prim damage of titanium is kinetic but with very little damage.

Stop whining. The "limitations" on Minmatar damage selection are nothing compared to any other race. Drakes are stuck shooting kinetic, Gallente can only shoot thermal and kinetic, and poor Amarr are stuck with EM. Minmatar have the absolute best damage selection, which is one of the reasons I fly it so much. Look around at what other people's limitations are before you start complaining about how the most flexible race in the game can't shoot kinetic.

im not whining at all... and caldari doesn't always = kinetic, there just best with it, as for lasers and blasters they both have there advantages that being can swap quickly between any range instantly and blasters have the most dps. Im just saying that projectiles have mid and long range kinetic based ammo but no short range ammo when it comes to kinetic.

And you can actually shoot kinetic, just not with the same damage. Exact same thing. I would highly recommend thinking your arguments though before you post them, although I'm suspecting you don't actually know what you're talking about. By the way, if you're even considering making a comparison between projectiles and lasers/hybrids saying that projectiles are in any way inferior, you should just log off the forums right now and save yourself another embarrassment. The lack of close range kinetic ammo for projectiles doesn't in any way compare to the handicaps on the other races.

Winmatar and their weapons do not need any more boosts, they are already far ahead of others. Such changes would have any meaning only if other weapon systems would be brought in line with projectiles and their versatility.

Interesting idea, but it won't work in your implementation because 3/4 of weapon systems would become thermal-based and winmatar will be the only exception therefore making them even stronger.

wow . . . i think we may have found the only person who plays eve who also wants the minmatar to get a buff

is it not enough that your guns have long range, good tracking, dont use cap, are easy to fit, go on the fastest ships, AND do a ton of damage, but you want more options when applying damage?

Try this on for size; blasters use cap, have TERRIBLE range, are harder to fit, go on the slowest ships, and cant switch damage types at all . . . you fly those around until you're thankful for your minmatar guns.

For OP: The very beauty of EVE is that you CAN'T have it all. Maybe there are other games that would suite you better? Games where everyone are more or less the same except for graphics and have access to the "best in slot" within a few days?
