Spotify premium for PLEX?

Crazy, I know, and probably not a new idea either, but it just occurred to me that, considering the nature of both Eve Online and Spotify, it would be absolutely brilliant if I could pay for Spotify Premium with PLEX. Maybe even add Spotify integration in the Eve Online jukebox but, above all, the idea of being able to pay for a Spotify premium account with PLEX would sound totally sweet to me.

There's tons of excellent artists out there whose music would fit Eve Online spot-on (not to name names but Darshan Ambient is a perfect example). What a way to promote their music!

Also, considering this from a CCP perspective, I think this could be profitable simply due to the fact that Spotify premium only costs 9,99€ a month - a whole lot less than a PLEX does - but I'd still prefer paying for my Spotify subscription with PLEX over hard currency any day and I know I'm not the only one. Give me a way to do that, and I'll do it.

You know how demand drives supply so as long as there's people willing to pay ISK for PLEX in order to pay for a Spotify premium account there will most definitely be people willing to sell PLEX for ISK - which directly translates to more PLEX sold.

*Please* do take this under consideration.

Although it costs $15 for someone to receive a PLEX from CCP, the PLEX itself holds no value, as it is a virtual good owned by CCP.

An agreement between CCP and whoever runs Spotify will never happen.

You mean like an agreement between CCP and a certain graphics card manufacturer never happened either? You know, the deal where you could buy a real-life graphics card to be installed in your computer using a bunch of PLEXes that hold no value in themselves?

I beg to differ.

In this case: Player1 buys a PLEX for $14,95. He then sells it to Player2 for, say 500mil ISK. Player2 then uses the PLEX to pay for Spotify premium subscription for 1 month. Spotify gets a montly subscription payment, CCP gets a net profit of $5, Player1 gets 500mil ISK and Player2 gets Spotify premium for 1 month without any real-life cash involved. Everybody wins.

Or it could be done some other way. Just throwing out an idea here.

Depends on the math I would guess.

Getting an agreement in place; Fit the integration within the pipeline; Allocate ressources to code it; Testing it; Releasing it.

Sounds like an awful lot of work for something you do by earn ISK; buy a PLEX; pay your sub all meanwhile you have spotify running seperately which you pay seperately.

Guess the math is against it even though I am not an accountant.

Two possibilities exists: Either we are alone in the universe or we are not. Both are equally terrifying.

A graphics card company would be different, because the graphics hardware and capabilities are directly demonstrated in the game.

As a digital music service, I doubt CCP would have any reason to make an agreement with Spotify. Spotify may not be popular enough with EVE players, to justify the headache of negotiating an agreement for $5 a month.
