Sadly to find the answer you have to search under "Good Navy Omen fits".

The omen is pretty terrible. The fitting restrictions on it are far too tight. It is need of a good rebalancing. Shield kiting fits are possible but still pretty bad.

The maller is an ok ship except that it is usually better served by fitting auto cannons. I rarely see Mallers in action and when I do I stay clear because they are almost always bait for a larger fleet.

The only t1 amarr cruiser really worth flying is the arbitrator but if you are wanting to shoot lasers and melt people you will be disappointed.

The good news is that the amarr frigates provide many great choices. The punisher, crusader, slicer, and retribution can all be great laser boats. If your dead set on something a little larger stick to the Harbinger.

Sadly the standard (non-Navy) Omen is pretty rubbish.

Take almost any decent-looking fit for it, try fitting the same modules (inculding lasers) into a Thorax and you will find the Thorax does more damage and has more tank, even though it has no laser bonuses....

It is in pretty desperate need of balancing.

Edit: the guy above me is right

Amarr T1 cruisers are not that good for PVP, they are very much inferior to the Rupture and Thorax.

Go up to BC size though, and the Harbinger is simply a beast. It can be set up to either passive Shield-Tank or passive armour tank like a pro, all the while having amazing DPS, and a healthy contingent of drone.

So Amarr are great for T1 PVP.... at BC size and above.

T1 cruisers are really the only hole in the Amarr lineup. Amarr frigs, BC's, and BS's are all great. Amarr t2 cruisers also have some great options.

Like I said, if you want to get a pvp start with amarr stick with frigates or the Harb.

My recommendation for learning to PVP in Amarr hulls:
Nano Punisher -> Slicer
-> Harbinger -> Harbinger/Oracle
-> Arbitrator -> Curse
-> Apoc/Abaddon/Armageddon

Ships on the right are awesome and will always be your go to ships for awesome happy fun sexy times.

Grog and Liang have it right.

Though if you're going to to traveling in gangs the Arbitrator is a great utility ship that can fill multiple roles for not much isk and not a lot of SP. Between Tracking Disruptors, ECM drones, and Neuts you can be a handy accompaniment.

Search around on Battleclinic or play around on EFT for some different fits. Keep in mind though most of the best Arbitrator fits require cross training into Minmatar guns.

I am amarr and can fly a bc fully t2 fit minus guns with rigs so listen up. The omen is. Only useful for lv1 and lv2. It can actually run lv4 as a SUPPORT ship and nothing more but needs long range weapons and a armor rep rate of 55 over 100 at least . Dont waist time with the omen pitiful.
