I've barely been playing a month, and even then it's not been everyday, it's mainly been security missions, no mining at all, but thanks

Just be aware that a retriever has virtually zero chance of surviving a suicide gank.. May or may not happen but be prepared and keep your ship insured for quick replacement.

Rigs are not needed if you can get a hauler or set up a bunch of giant secure containers in the belt.

If you're mining solo in Highsec be prepared for around 300-320k per full cargo. I'd question its profitability. Better go shoot rats in lowsec or do missioning with corpmates.

With veldspar hitting 160isk per M3, and a cargo space fitted Retriever, you're actually looking at around 784,000 isk per full cargo (around 3 cycles, or 9 minutes). 160 isk/m3, with around 4900 m3 to fill (2 strip miner 1s pulling in around 800m3 each a cycle)
Pyro would break the million barrier.

Still, doesn't stack up to missioning, but it's a lot less effort.

If you're self hauling, an MLU isn't such a good idea. Go for cargo extenders instead. You'll be losing bits of a cycle anyway, If you have a hauler though (or GSCs), the fit above is a pretty good one.

If you're self hauling then you shouldnt be mining, it turns a horrible profit into nearly non-existing.

Tell me where do you sell Veldspar for 160 isk? I see only 15 isk and 5 isk for tritanium which aren't higher the last time I mined.

160isk per m3. 1 Veld is 0.1 m3.

And that's the refined value, at Jita sell prices. Selling ore directly almost always costs you. Perfect refining isn't hard to get to, and should be a goal for any miner who doesn't want to have to cut in a middleman.
