Why wait for CCP to implement this? Just do it in a Rorqual. If your small corp already has access to a blackops BS and such, send them out to scout for a good system. Most of null is normally empty, anyway. When you find a good system, light a cyno and bring the rorq in - it anchors a small tower and the covops gang reships into hulks.

The rorqual sits in the POS in siege, boosting and compressing ore. If someone jumps in, warp back to the POS. If you get stuck, have everyone reship into bombers and recons and deal with the threat. Bring a CHA with you so the rorq can refit and switch between a boosting fit and a travel fit. Oh, and remember to put a cloak on your 2.2b capship.

The goal you're trying to achieve is already perfectly doable with current game mechanics. A covops miner is just... nonsensical, really.

Pos's go boom....and a rorqual? The idea would be to get in....mine alot of goodies....go back to hi sec and use it for production.
I'd have to upkeep the pos also...while i have experience....it causes me like an anxious boredom
Make it so i can moon mine rarity 32 goo and up in wormholes

Lowering the dang interbus tax on customs offices would be nice. 17% is just gouging and my profits are hurt by this. I took the time to set up 25 planets in losec just to see 17% of my profits vaporize. And no i dont wanna build relations with any customs office owning people. Buy wetware mainframes and nano-bot factories people...if u dont use em...theyre perty to look at Blink

Assuming this isn't a troll:

Regular Arkonor has a current mineral value of 444 isk/m^3 vs the best highsec ore worth 200 isk/m^3.

A hulk with a maxed Orca booster will pull 2761 m^3 per minute, dropping to a tengu booster lowers it to 2598, a player with only a mindlink and no command links is 1868

Starting from the baseline of a max yield hulk and no command links, you will fill a max cargo (t1 rigs) covops transport in under 6 minutes, which means that running a mining op will require near regular jumping of the hauler, so you will need a black ops constantly portaling and jumping back and forth with the haulers between two cynos. So you need 5 accounts minimum, and for every extra hulk you add you will basically need another covops transport. Lets say you have 11 people, 4 hulks, 4 haulers, 2 cyno and a black ops BS, you would pull 200m per hour mining only Arkonor, or 18m per hour per character (Not counting jump expenses, and assuming you could find a station to dock within blackops bridge range). Even if you jumped in a T3 with mining links, you make almost as much as highsec, but its still less. If instead you used 9 Hulks and 2 Orca (1 booster, 1 hauler) in highsec, you would pull 300m per hour, or 27m per hour per character on the most valuable regular highsec ore. That doesn't even consider the risks of ninja mining 0.0, or the time spent hidding from scouts/gangs. It just does not make economic sense.

And all that assumes a covops hulk can mine as much as a regular one, which would be unlikely.

this pretty much sums it up.

unless you could compress the ore. or something. it be too much a waste. it be much easier to go mine in a wormhole.

Thank god for ppl who want to save this company and make them thrive

Uhm, you mean you fly around, moving stuff. Or do you fly in one of them WoW-Priest ships? Ugh

Seriously, the moron at CCP that came up with the name 'Logistics' needs to be smacked on the head with a dictionary.

I really like the idea of a cov-ops mining ship. A VERY EASY way to make this happen would be the introduction of a mining subsystem for T3 ships.

Tadaa! Cloaky, no-bubble, mining ship, balanced by its pricetag (though I still think it takes way to few SP to get into T3).

Okay..with the change in drone mission drops...no more high end minerals available? Make the Holeyhulk a reality. With a support ship for links and compression. Man...t1 ships have skyrocketed. Make it skill intensive as a detterent.
