Just came back to the game after a ~3month break, and drones STILL randomly stop fighting?! Are you kidding me? Is this a god damn joke? Why hasn't this been fixed in 3 months?

Stop wasting ******* time with ****** Incarna station environments and fix your ******* game. Hire some programmers that don't suck, and fire the ****** ones you have now. FFS!

PS. I was originally going to post this with nicer wording but your web servers suck as much as the rest of the **** you guys do and it ate my post with some dumb error message. Jesus H. Christ, ******* failures in every aspect of this game and company.

I hate to tell you this, but three months is nothing. Drones have been in varying states of brokenness since I started playing six years ago....

Oh I know, despite the age of the toon I am using to post on the forums I have been playing since 2005. Just seems like something so major as drones just randomly stopping all activity would be pretty high up on the list of things to fix.

Having a high priority does not mean it's easy to do. You have no idea what is causing the issue. It could be so deep in the code it might take years to fix.

And before you say it, lack of ccp response does not mean anything. I personally prefer they actually work on the game rather than coming for the forums every 5 minutes to update every little issue.

My intention behind my post wasn't to get CCP to respond, I really couldn't care less if they ever post on these forums or do another dev blog. I just want them to fix the problems with their game, rather than waste time on features that most people don't seem to care about at all.

In fact, you've convinced me that it's time I let my wallet do the talking for me...if this issue isn't fixed by the time my game time lapses then I will just be done with Eve.

They can't fix Drones. If they fix Drones then they would be admitting that Gallente have a viable way to deal damage. We can't have that.

Meh mate. So many things are broken in this game its not even funny. But honestly I don't think they will drop everything and fix drones just because you are going to let your sub lapse. It sound to me like you are just looking for an excuse to quit, if not and Drones have made you quit then its probably best seen as there are much worse problems than Drones randomly attacking (or not) in the game.

I would like to know if CCP has an explanation to why the Drone AI is so poor and does some very random things. It would also be nice for them to not only acknowledge the problem but maybe put some commitment to fix them at some point in the future (not expecting near future but maybe eventually).

At least Drones kinda work, have you ever tried to use Defender Missiles?!

If a piece of code doesn't work instead of fixing it they should maybe take it out and put new one in - programming has changed somewhat over the last 7-8 years.

And a simple idea - why not make a skill for drone programming(creature handler in SWG style) which after training will give you a new command with every level

I thought drones were intentionally quirky, isn't that part of their charm?

I thought this was it as well. I like my drones. I also like kicking my drones in the proverbial rear when they do, or don't, the things I intended. :P

In all seriousness, I appreciate having to keep an eye on my drones. It keeps me on my toes.

I’m not crazy. I’m just a little unwell.

I enjoy the cheeky lil bastards not doing what they are meant to. 90% of the time they are fine, it's when your jammed and they are just returning to you with a derpy grin that annoys me now and again.

Funny I've never had this problem with drones before. Maybe you don't treat them well?

You know fighters do this after every target on purpose. Be happy your drones don't have to be micromanaged all the time.

De'Veldrin's Corollary (to Malcanis' Law): Any idea that seeks to limit the ability of a large nullsec bloc to do something in the name of allowing more small groups into sov null will inevitably make it that much harder for small groups to enter sov null.

What puzzles me about this is that it must surely be adding an unnecessary load to the server to have all drone users spamming the "attack" button.

I mean, for the individual player, it makes sense to spam "attack" as a matter of habit because it gets to the point you can't be bothered checking whether they've attacked or not, or whether they're no all "idle" or not, and you know that if you hit "attack" several times they will eventually obey.

Surely the devs would want to minimize that?

Easiest way to minimize it is to ensure that they obey on one keypress.

Bah, the ways of CCP are mysterious Ugh

I just started multi-boxing missions. My primary grinds missions with a Paladin and I haven't really sat down to just do missions for a couple of years. The only reason I'm doing them is to grind up standing for datacore farming. Anywho, I have my secondary flying a Sentry Domi and I swap out for Warrior II's if any annoying frigs make it under the guns. It works out really well but I have noticed a couple of times that I have had to repeat myself to the light drones at times. This wasn't really that bothersome to me as I went to the shortcuts page and sure enough there is a shortcut key for "Drones attack!" ... there isn't really a ! but there should always be a '!' after the verb attack... if you're at all serious about it. Anyway, I just programed one of the thumb grid keys to be the 'Drones Attack!' button and it immediately became irrelevant how many times I had to repeat myself and it was just a matter of a slight adjustment in thumb pressure on the mouse.
