I am under the impression that EvE is a player controlled market etc. However I have come across freight containers do not have any BPO's avaliable.

If we want these to be avaliable to the general public in EvE, then surely they would have to be avaliable to be made by any player.

Anyone able to shed light on this topic?

If there are yet to be any BPO's/BPC's then surely this can be corrected so it ensures the market is player controlled.

There are a few other items as well. Should all be turned over to players IMO.

Some items I think stay ccp controlled because of how much isk they draw out of the system. The one issue with 100% player controlled is that it does result in more isk building up in the system. Inflation of prices is a concern to ccp, and a big, logical one at that they watch very closely. If general market goods begin to rise dramatically, the game becomes less accessible to new players. While there is a market for containers, the rate they are consumed might not be high enough to warrant it.

The ratting itself is PvE. Getting away with it is PvP.

There are still some items which cannot be player made, they do keep changing these though where they can. For example, until Planetary Interaction was brought into the game, all the POS towers and modules were NPC seeded. As Markus says, they were used as a way of getting Isk out of the game to work with inflation. When they changed POS stuff to player made, the "isk sink" moved to the PI taxes and we get to build them from PI products.

So it's not just as simple as saying "all items should be player made" and whilst that is the ultimate goal, the economy has to be carefully balanced as well. No point being about to make everything if it's all worthless eh?
