Drone damage mods - shield carrier love

CCP allegedly announced during fanfest that they are working on drone damage mods. I think this is a great opportunity to differentiate shield capitals from armor ones: tank vs. damage.

If these would be lowslot, we would suddenly have a very viable shieldcap fleet doctrine. The increase in cap support and high alpha in larger fleets leads to more importance on the instant RR shield can provide on carriers and dreads. The new big doctrine could possibly be an assigned sentry based one with shield focused pantheon carrier fleet?

Without at least 3 CPRs Chimeras have terrible cap recharge, Nids could do it suppose, due to there increase number of lows however in a shield config a Nid is barely workable.

Basically, I dont think so as shield carriers need those low for CPR so they can run RR mods, as well as there local tank.

If fed with cap by chimeras, it might work, might.

Nope, not that good an Idea IMHO. Would be nice if armor tanking Gallente Subcaps, you know those of the actual drone users, could use the mods. Oh wait, there is another race of drone users: Amarr. Still, armor users. Ah well...

make it a highslot module (drone control unit already is a high-slot module which lets you have more drones, hence more drone dps :P )

If it isn't a highslot module, Ishtars, Gilas, and Rattlers will cry.

I, for one, hope it is medslot. A T2 Domi could get 1800dps, assuming that the drone damage module increases dps by the same percentage as magstabs.

This is probably why they'll be high or low slot.

I wouldnt be suprised when they smack em on the mids ... afterall they cant deny the armorboys having those.

If shield tankers take a beating for it .. well .. too bad .. use the normal mantra of "Well thats why you have so many midslots for bro"
