Well, honestly not even a jump planner, but just showing your available jump range on the star map would be such a great help.

All you have to do is when we flatten the star map sitting in our jump capable ships, show the available range in a circle.

Since cyno jump range is calculated in light years and not in gate jumps, I feel this would be very convenient for capital pilots that have to move around unfamiliar territory without compromising much developer resources.

I know there is a jump planner website and I use it, but I don't see a reason that it shouldn't exist in game.

This could be similar to the one used for PI Planet Viewing of resources. Obviously the more you train the Skill required for jumping the more lightyears you can jump so this would need to be linked into that Skill to be a complete asset.

1+ though for a very good and clean idea, well done!

Isn't there a sphere already in the 3D Map view?

Yup, if you unflatten your map you can see your range orb.

oh you can see it if its unflattened?

haha I have always kept mine flattened for so long(like 3years) I didn't even think about that.

Thanks for the tip.

I guess this post is irrelevant now.
