Is there any plans to allow the changing of your character name.

When I started playing eve there was nothing to indicate the relavance of your character name when i made it, and by the time I knew it was too late.

Now after 6 years i am tired of being primary, big fleets, especially 0.0 is not fun if you always die in the first few seconds. I can almost hear the opposing fc saying battleships a-z.

I know someone has to be first alphabetically, but after so long i feel I have done my turn, why can't there be an option to change your name once every 3 years for example, that way if you have a name you want to change at least you know there is a point in the future it can change. Hell all i want to do is change from "Anth9rax" to "Mr Anth9rax", is it really so much to ask?

Alternately, remove character name from overview, replace it with a unique ship hull number, allocate the numbers randomly as ships are built, and reuse numbers from ships that are destroyed so it doesnt get out of control number wise. Once you get your new graphics sorted you could even stick the number on the ship.

It will never happen sorry as it allows people from escape from their past in this game and the playerbase has some really ****** people in it who has done really ****** things

I was going to make a comment about how much you've grown over the last 6 years, but then I saw "Mr Anth9rax" and chuckled a bit inside. As to name changes - no, thank you. As people have mentioned before, there are consequences for our actions in the game and if you could avoid them by simply changing your name for $20 we'd lose that accountability.

I don't care if people know who I was before, an alias or tracking of some kind would be fine.

But if your really not into the name change the hull number ID would do me fine too.

Btw "Anth9rax" goes back to palying red alert online a very very long time ago, wouldn't feel right not to have it in my name somewhere.

If a character is sold on the bazzar you should get a free name change. If some one stole from a corp the sold his toon, how is it fair that the new owner is hunted.

Well I can attest to the fact that a name that is hard to read or pronounce in RvB is actually an advantage in my eyes, for example i was FCing Reds earlier today and i called you primary, and i had to say your name 3 times to make sure everyone new who i was talking about, which delays my target calling.... ''Anth-9-rax'' ''Anthrax'' ''A-N-T-H-9'' Pretty coincidental that you made this thread lol :)

Im thinking of training a alt with the name - secondary primary, and joining rvb. Im expecting it to enrage some Red Fc's

We changed how we looked once we should have got a name change at that time as well.

This would just open new doors for scammers and ingame-crimes.

As soon as you old name is known for beeing a corp thief -> change name and move on.

This is against the politic of CCP ("every of your actions matter" or so).
Just imagin guys like Chribba, Mittani or Bobby Atlas would simply change their names ;).

Old day gamers like me still see the avatar as "part of their alter ego personality".
For excample I never sold any of my chars in any game as ... they are me! If someone would do bad thinks with these chars, he would do it in my name. And this I would never allow ;).

Next time you creat an Avatar ... think bevore you creat an unwanted name.

Why the hell can't I fitt capital repairs or shield booster on an Orca ... it's an CAPITAL ship!

Changing name on character bazaar purchase... would be totally abused as people sold there own characters to themselves for that purpose.

Like others have said, no to the name change.

But since you know you will be called primary by FCs without a clue, use it to your fleets advantage and become the heavily tanked bait ship driver.

There's always a role for the 'A' people.
