Hi guys

I just want to ask question. About one thing.

SP lost because clone was not big enough
As we all know copsulers are immortal.. well sorta.. because you may loose SP points = time of your RL isn't that stupid ? I'm fine with loosing imps or anything but time in RL ? We can do more things if we wasn't be loosing SP. More Ganking / griefing and doing stupid things..

Or you could upgrade your clone before you undock from your medical station after getting podded like everyone else does.

Loosing SP only happens if your Lazy and don't pay attention.

So, basically, you made a mistake and forgot to keep your clone up to date...and you don't want to be punished for making a mistake?

Which is why I hope CCP follows their own philosphy when it comes to DUST...gunbunnies will die fast and if they are allowed back into combat quickly like other FPS....well they better have similar costs and a manual update everytime they take a railgun, tachyon beam, sabot round or guided RPG to the knee. Will just cause all those COD clowns to quit, since it will require a greater investment they won't be bothered to because they forgut to update their clone in the heat of battle. Or CCP will look to updating their stupid system that dates to antiquity times, at least allow multiple backs of the same clone package!

Most capsulers are living few years now :) So if 3000 yrs happen I will let you know :)

It was mentioned by CCP Soundwave, I think, that this was a dumb thing that he wants to change at Fanfst. When that might be is anyone's guess, though.

IG it makes sense - you're reactivating a clone, which being made at a certain point in time, will only have your memories/skills at that point. Now, if we had something like out of cyberpunk which essentially either a) downloaded us to the closest station when death happened, or b) kept updating our clones constantly via a device embedded in our bodies - then I could see it being different.

I could see doing choice a) with a higher cost perhaps - sudden involuntary death costing more than choosing to lose some SP, possibly, if you hadn't kept your chosen station clone updated. I could see doing b) but with the caveat that it might be possible to track you through your implant... capsuleers are paranoide after all! And for good reason.

Out of game, it's simply a balancing feature common to games like this to make death meaningful, while rewarding preparation.

Maybe it is old fashioned, since you usually loose a ship if you loose your pod! but still almost anything beats corpse runs imo lol

I wouldn't mind seeing advances in Eve tech like outlined above, surely it still is advancing? But generally I don't think the system is too bad, IG or out, because it also takes ISK out of the system which is something I approve of.

Its a great isk sink. And everyone knows we need more of those.

It even scales with time played, look at the cost of the higher tier clones, specifically after 71m SP (~3-4 years of SP). It gets crazy.

I think the better question would be : "Why can't I choose to automatically upgrade my clone after death?"

We are; thanks to cloning technology and the ability to transfer your memories, thoughts and so forth to the clone on death. If the clone was created without your expanded mental abilities in it; those abilities are lost when the write fails to the drive. Immortality does not affect a simple storage space problem.

Loose means the opposite of tight and rhymes with Goose.

Lose means you don't have it anymore and rhymes with booze.
