Is there any merit in training for and using a warfare link module in the spare high slot of a Falcon? I assume the bonuses apply to the ship that is carrying the module as well as those in fleet?

The effect applys to the ship using the module as well as other ships in the fleet. BUT it doesn't apply if there is ONLY one ship in the fleet. So you need a minimum of two pilotes in the same system at the same time to gain any effect from warfare link modules and leadership skills.

For a REALLY solo pilot then warfare links - and indeed all leadership skills - have no use at all. You require more than one pilot in the "fleet".

The typical way around this in Eve is an alt. Can't be a trial account unless you have two machines.

Use alt as scout, jump/login and there's your bonuses.

Worth mentioning that this is less useful for shield tanking ships as they have to wait for shield to recharge.

tl;dr No if you're really solo

A Falcon cannot fit a Warfare Link on anyway, only Battlecruisers/Command Ships/Warfare Processor fitted T3s/Carriers/Titans can.

While I too noticed the fact that the OP seems to want to fit a link on his falcon, I think the more pressing question is this:

What exactly do you intend to solo in a falcon that actually leaves one of its highslots empty?

probably industrials, and even then I don't know if the damage is still enough to break their tank.

Ah...yeah soz but thanks for the replies. Still, the idea about using an alt would work. I have a drake piloting alt so all I need to do is drag it around with me and have it in system sat in a station somewhere right?

The Module whould have to be on the Drake, in Space and activated, but then: yes, you could.

A Falcon can't use warfare links so the question is moot.

Look at the stats on those things 5000 cpu , the only ships that can use warfare links are the ones with the specific 99% CPU reduction bonus, BattleCruisers, Command Ships, Strategic Cruisers with the Warfare processor subsystem, capital industrial ships(Orca/Rorqual), (super)carriers and Titans.

Edit: If you have an alt you can setup a booster BC using command processors to up the number of warfare modules you fit on it.

Something like

[Cyclone, booster II]
Co-Processor II
Co-Processor II
Co-Processor II
Co-Processor II

Large Shield Extender II
Command Processor I
Command Processor I
Command Processor I
[empty med slot]

Skirmish Warfare Link - Evasive Maneuvers
Skirmish Warfare Link - Interdiction Maneuvers
Skirmish Warfare Link - Rapid Deployment
Siege Warfare Link - Shield Harmonizing
Improved Cloaking Device II
Salvager I
[empty high slot]
[empty high slot]

Medium Salvage Tackle I
Medium Anti-EM Screen Reinforcer I
Medium Core Defence Field Extender I

Obviously not something you want to put in a fight but you just safespot it up and make sure you drop it's cloak when you are ready to fight. then if things are clear bring it in to salvage the carnage.
