The great RMT isk purge will likely crash PLEX prices in my opinion.

Tens of trillions removed from economy.
- Less demand for PLEX

People worried about using RMT to aquire ISK
- More people converting GTCs to PLEX to acquire ISK. (especially those trying to fix their neg wallet balance)

CCP found a good way of reducing PLEX price and controlling inflation.

Cheaper PLEX is good for the game. Only trying to speed up the inevitable.

15m from PL Wallet.

This reminds me when the RMT accounts were leaked and CCP were deleteing posts on the forums that linked those chars and allinces. NAME AND SHAME I say.

the 15t number was later qualified:

I want to clear one misconception that is causing confusion. The 15 trillion number is neither one character, nor is it a single negative wallet. It is an API calculated change in personal wallet amounts over one week for ALL PL characters within the API system (~1400).

There are 58 characters with negative wallets, but obviously more had their (positive) wallets modified. In terms of pure ISK amount, snigg has been hit hardest and one of Shamis' reimbursement characters has the most negative wallet in the neighborhood of ~30B. Obviously, everyone is petitioning because this is some sort of mistake by CCP confusing PvP reimbursement and contract payments, over the months, to RMT.

it is very easy for a large alliance to come into contact with tainted isk and even more so for a group of extremely expensive mercenaries - it's easy to construct plausible scenarios in which someone running a large botting/RMT operation might have sent considerable amounts of ISK or assets to PL without the mercenaries participating in RMT per se.

Maybe - in the near future - you'll have to show the seller your income statement before being allowed to make large isk payments Twisted

PL losing 15T isk wasn't actually true but trillions was removed from the accounts off botters/rmters.

Prices of PLEX have dropped steadily over the last week by 10m.

What CCP did is a deal with NVIDIA to buy uber GFX card with PLEX. That deal in itself will increase demand for PLEX what will likely drive the prices up even further. The PLEX is around 500m currently and the blog about how to trade for the card is not even out yet.

So PLEX prices are not crashing any time soon.

The graphics card they are offering (limited numbers btw) is a low end gaming card. For many players it would be a downgrade.

Others for which this card would be an upgrade will have old gen CPUs which will be a bottleneck. Again reducing the market.

So that leaves people that want to SLI or build a new budget PC. How many of these people will have 20 PLEX to spend on this?

Im guessing they wont sell nearly enough cards to account for the trillions of isk they are wiping from the economy. Not to mention all the cancelled/banned botting accounts that will no longer require PLEX. Oh and the nerf to incursion payouts.

Good luck selling you inventory before the market collapses.

BTW the nVidia deal is an experimental, limited numbers attempt. Limited numbers => limited impact on the market.

PLEX prices continue to fall. Down ~20m in less than 2 weeks.

The incoming nerf to incursions should accelerate this.

I would also guess that more people will be converting GTCs to PLEX as ship prices have gone way up and income from missions/incursions is about to go down.

you can grasp at straws to make yourself look like a prophet all you want but the fact of the matter is that plexes are really only just returning to prices they rose to back in november and then again in late january

call me again when they're back at 350 and maybe we'll talk

You realize:

a) A negative wallet does not mean a single isk was removed from the game.
b) The 15T from PL was a PL troll.

That said, people who buy RMT isk will need to seed plex now instead. Additionally, with the cost of living increasing less people will be able to afford plex and plex will also be a more a tantalizing option for those who need more income as prices for everything increases. So yeah, I don't see any reason why plex's won't steadily fall for the time being.

If CCP wanted to lower plex prices, they'd just have to bring back ghost training. But sadly, it won't happen.

a) It does if the wallet wasn't empty beforehand. ISK is also removed if they try to get their negative wallets positive again.
b) Scroll up a bit and you'll see that I've already said that.
