Yes you spewed lots of BS and should feel terrible.

CCP is already taking action, hopefully including reporting this to the authorities local to whomever made the comment(s).

Well, since this continues to esculate it'll probably soon be on all the National News broadcast systems world wide. Nice way to kill the game.

As for local authorities, they usually investigate everything connected to it and guess what, the trail ends with the Fanfest video. Local authorities have no problem bringing various charges against different people all the time.

You lack monocle..... Discuss.

Never thought I'd pine longingly for the good old days of monocle-gate, yet here we are...

The thing is, goons have been pissing off people for years in all manner of ways (scamming, all sorts of metashit, the list is fairly extensive). Some individuals, those that don't treat eve as a game, have a lot of pent up frustration toward the goons. Now unstable individuals who have been, in their minds, wronged by the goons have an outlet IRL for their pent up frustration.

So now an individual is experiencing consequences irl for the in game actions of many of his corp-mates. And it will probably get worse, because the goons pissed off A LOT of people (and statistically, some of those individuals will be quite unstable).

Its a f'd up situation tbh.

People might think of Goons as utterly amoral people but I assure you we are quite moral within the boundaries of our alliance. (Nonblues are of course fair game) Nobody in Goonswarm would stoop to such a level, especially since we genuinely like Mittens as a person.

I don't know what's worse in this situation:

1) That somebody's wife was actually dragged into this mess with a threat of physical violence,
Or
2) Greater than zero people have responded to this incident with "lol mittans had it coming, see how it feels"

I have no doubt that the lunatic who made the threat was probably some bandwaggoning sperglord who felt empowered by a sense of semi-anonymity, but damn. It's the guy's wife, people. Mittens gave out the player's in-game name. Oh no, his spaceships might go boom. Now Mr. and Mrs. Gianturco get to live in fear of physical violence because people don't like an Internet spaceship character.

Protip: EVE isn't real.

I know people keep saying they (goons) started in Eve just to grief and cause problems..

But I don't remember it that way at all. Goon's were a bunch of new players that were getting tired of getting kicked around by the established groups and corporations within the game. They banded together and were quite aggressive in their fighting style.

In fact, the very first time I saw a goon swarm so to speak, was a fleet where every single goon got into a rookie ship to take on and destroy a gang of Battleships. I can't remember for sure but I think it was Goons against the Russians in that fight.

I had a laugh, and found myself often cheering them on back then, as did many other players. But, as anybody can see, things change.

And now, looking at where they are and where they started, is where the true irony is revealed. ;)

The problem is 99% of publords don't know anything about goonswarm beyond recruitment scamming. They chat in their inane corp channels about them evil goonies ruining the game and being the root of all the problems when in reality beyond CSM 6/recent ice interdiction and recruitment scamming our interaction with the average highsec mouthbreather is minimal.

Except you forgot to include in your reply the fact that Mr. Gianturco encouraged players on world wide video feed to find and harass a potentially suicidal player to help facilitate that said person to commit suicide.

And did he commit suicide? No. No one knows who the guy is other than his character name. Unlike Mittani's real name and address.

The problem here is that these neckbeards with an axe to grind took a look at the line Mittens crossed, got a running start, then made a flying leap across it. They bottled up all their ****-goons angst as they went and now they flail around making posts about Mittens and family as though it were just counter-smack in local.

The only thing that has come full-circle here is the dissociative personality disorder of the address poster and mr. ****. Clearly they've alltogether transcended what it means to talk trash and now equate stealing isk and blowing up mackinaws with actual felonies.

Given this is how you and other goonies view the common EVE player out of hand, just to be "edgy", is there any wonder why you are collectively considered to be the Pariahs of EVE.

Funny, considering goonies are mostly basement dwelling neckbeards.

What are you talking about?

I meant the position that you guys are in as a whole in the game and the turning of the tables.

This whole thing with the threats of ****, and giving out somebodies real life address just before those threats is another matter entirely. I don't see how anybody could even hope to justify that.

I got a question pubbie. What's with the quoting my post regarding my advice to Mittani to acquire a weapon for self-defense? Are you anti-guns or something? There's nothing illegal about self-defense in the state that Mittani resides in especially when they have Castle Doctrine.

Holy ****, this entire Fanfest debacle has gotten way, WAY out of hand Ugh

95% of the players are loving EVE, the other 5%? On the forums.

Nope, I was literally QFT. Enter my home un-invited, and/or threaten what's mine or precious, and experience the consequences of my State's make-my-day Law.
