Ok so I've been fooling around with PI for the first time since its release and I think I have the jist of it. however I have a couple of questions.

1. How much can a High Tech Production Plant produce, if lets say I'm producing Organic Mortar Applicators if it has all the resources available in say a 24 hour period?

2. I understand their is an import/Export tax.. is this significant enough to account for in the calculations or are the amounts small enough to where you can generally ignore them?

The reality of Eve is that, if you don't love it like it is today, you should probobly go ahead and unsub.

1) spreadsheets FTW
2) seriously spreadsheets
3) never export p0
4) mine P0 make P1 on the same planet
5) export p1 to factory planets
6) spreadsheets

1. HTPF's produce one item per hour. If you have one HTPF you will make 24 items every 24 hours.

2. Import and Export Taxes are incredibly import in highly organized PI schemes. If you want to succeed you need to know every single one of your input and output costs.

3. Make incredibly elaborate and precise spreadsheet. The better your spreadsheet the more profitable PI will be.

As Joshua said you get 1 advanced commodity an hour. The trouble is having enough mats to keep your factory running the full 24 hours without any breaks. I am doing PI with 3 characters and I haven't done it yet (I am admittedly a bit lax and have set my planets to a two - three day cycle because of RL obligations).

The materials needed to get that factory running 24/7 are absolutely staggering.

The import/export tax is another thing that is staggering. For the lower tier stuff it is small enough that you probably won't feel like it is a big deal bit by bit. However if you add up each of the mats that you need to import and export you might be surprised. The price of exporting each advanced commodity off the planet factory is 50K. So that would be 1.2 million a day if you had it running 24/7 and that is JUST for the advanced commodities. That isn't including all the products it took to make them.
