Nvidia GT240 to GTX 560 / 560 ti

Eve looks pretty good on my GT240, however from a lot of youtube vids, i see it can look a lot better.

How much of jump is the GT240 to a 560 or 560ti ?

I'm on a quad core 2.2Ghz, running s screen at 1920x1080

The biggest issue I seem to see with my current set up is even with anti-aliasing on it still looks jaggy!

Going from a GT240 to a 560 or 560Ti is quite a jump, they have a significant increase in processing power. They are some of the best cards out for Eve right now IMO.

I currently have the GTX460 and that plays Eve fine with everything turned on high at 1920x1080 resolution. The only issues I have is that its not quite powerful enough to run the captains quarters smoothly for me at least when I have postprocessing on high and interior effects on high. But other then that the GTX460 is a awesome card.


Also if you can wait you could get the GTX660 that will be released in a few months. It will be plenty powerful enough and rumor has it that they are very power efficient.

appears we have similar hardware. I have a GTX 260 and get good results. Read my post here to see if it helps you.

There's a problem with the GTX 560 right now, Ti or otherwise. People like myself are getting crashes when doing anything video and game related. Waiting on NVidia to fix the issue.

Thanks for the information, I've researched the Nvidia issue and as you say there is a problem across a number of games but I think I'll try my luck, if it goes bad I can always drop my 240 back in!

EvE is the only game I play on my PC, so I would assume anything above the 560 would be overkill?

in the UK the difference from the 560 to 560TI is around £30, would this make any difference in EvE?

I dont think there would be that massive of a difference but yes it is a bit more powerful for sure, if you think its worth paying £30 more then go for it.
