Really the game will be fine and continue to grow. You and Goons do not control the Real World. More people will see EVE and New ones will join. Plain and simple. AAAAHHHHH how we like to think we are gods.

No, I think backing out now will cause a hefty chunk of the playerbase to evacuate the game, and its position as one of the only 'hardcore' MMOs will be seriously compromised.

I joined Eve to fight in the Great War, because the idea of a massive intergalactic struggle between two empires founded by players sounded like an amazing thing to experience. I stayed because Eve is a unique place; a game built on the concept that there is no true safety, the the universe holds equal measures terror and wealth, and that the only thing between my supple meaty bits and the cold vaccuum of space were a few feet of steel and the mercy of someone with a larger gun. Eve has postured itself very much as a wild west in orbit type of game, and to back out of that image, all those YEARS of marketing, and those hundreds of promises will only damage the community and the game.

Incarna was a clear demonstration of how a loss of focus could hold serious damage potential for CCP and Eve on the whole. That was an earnest mistake, a loss of vision. What do you think the reaction would be to a willfill surrender of vision?

The problem with goons is that when you boil it down to its core elements, it’s a hate group. They have banded together in a non-Eve forum, assigned a derogatory term for “anyone not goon” which they throw around like the *** using the N word. Their goals are hateful. They are only here to cause misery for anyone who is not one of them and get away with destroying as much of Eve as they can. To top it off, they don’t even attempt to hide their motives and have posted them for everyone to see, because they feel invulnerable. Goons are just a new spin on an old and tired idea: Hate. I do not see how indulging them helps Eve in any way. They should be disbanded and forced to hide in dark corners like most members of most hate groups.

I can't wait to see Jita burn, or at least see the goons and their pals try to set it on fire. I think the goons are a very good thing for EVE. Anything they do, as terrible and satanic as it may seem to some, as long as it stays in game, is beneficial to all of our gaming experiences in EVE.

Driving some mission runner out of the game isn't nearly as satisfying as driving an entire alliance into failure.

Sometimes we do it to other alliances, sometimes we do it to ourselves. vOv

I can shoot down your entire flamebaiting argument by reminding you that the lion's share of the coalition around Goonswarm consists of these "pubbies" whose guts we allegedly hate and wish to drive out of the game (in-game)

This also includes member corporations within Goonswarm.

Actually your group still views its allies as "pubbies", in other words, "less than" them. By using a derogatory term to describe people you look down on, even if you do have a use for them. You are creating a class system based on membership. You support every goon rabidly. You look down on your allies. You hate everyone else.

The alliance was, “shaped for the infliction of misery”. One of their stated goals (hopes) is to get players “banned for life”. Their latest goal is to “ruin everything” by ruining Jita.

How does this help make Eve a better game?

You said it yourself "what some would call".

Actually no. "what some would call cyber-bullying" was what The Mittani said. Direct quote.

In my opinion it means Alex is acknowledging that the real world recognizes much of what goons do as cyber-bullying. What's it mean to you?

op makes a great case if you fail to remember that the TOS is a guideline that ccp follows very loosely especially in a game as dynamic as eve.

Per the ops case most anyone in the game that participates in pvp could be banned.

After all if i lose a ship cause some dude ganked me in a war i disapporved of then heh...he grifed me.

The facts are this...CCP owns the game they can ban whomever they want when they want for what they want regardless of what you think.

Now if they did this or banned folks for using what they or anyone deams abusive language or threatening language then most the folks in eve wuold have been banned at one time or another.

Then we would be left with a game much like hello kitty online. which maybe some folks want(op).

the goons are just having fun their own way. They have forewarned those that rae concerned. If you chose to stay in Jita and you get killed its not their fault its your fault for being there.

What they have done was declare a war on jita, and those in and around Jita. they are not intentionally attacking one or many persons they are attacking whomever is in Jita at the time they choose to go there. They are not threatening anyone outside of the game by attacking people in Jita. they are not bullying anyone in Jita.. Remember if you choose to stay in Jita when they attack it its your choice.

Choices in life and in game, are beautiful things..You cant hide your choices, then scream to your mom that someone is bullying you. Especially when they made it public and you still chose to get involved by staying there.

for example, sending personal and private info in a mail message ,makes that information no longer personal and private.
If you choose to send that info then you choose to deal with the consequences.....wait ......oh never mind ccp does protect against that.. never mind you are right..WELCOME to Hello Kitty online..op wins we all cant fight anymore...

all kidding aside, please use your brain when making accusations and demanding entire alliances be banned for playing a game that they are having fun with, no matter how much you dislike them and want them banned. it still doesn't make it right..and by ccp recent actions your request could be considered defamation of character to the entire alliance and therefore be a banable offense.
