In the US and Iceland, verbal harassment of an individual is illegal. Consequently, it is also against CCP's company policy to allow customers to harass eachother, as they are the owner of the media through which this harassment is being conducted, and also liable in the even that a party presses charges.

Blowing up internet spaceships is not harassment.
Can flipping is not harassment.

You can't go in front of a judge and say "he can flipped me aboobooboo".

Directing a large group of people to goad a person into suicide is illegal. If Wis committed suicide after Mittani's comment in the alliance panel, there would be a huge (real) media frenzy and Mittani would be sitting in trial a year from now trying not to end up in prison, and this sort of publicity would undo years of work against anti-video-game-violence advocates. He's LUCKY he merely got a 30 day ban and was removed from CSM (as he would have been had he not resigned to save face) and his loyal minions should really consider what could have happened before they complain about this trivial slap on the wrist.

I'm not going to dredge through Icelandic law, but you can be certain this is the truth, posts referencing it have been made before and I've read it myself. You can look it up rather than bitching to me if you don't believe it. It's also completely irrelevant whether or not you feel society should coddle adult men or not. It's CCP's ass on the line.

As for the lost votes, tough luck. You players didn't lose your votes because Mittani made a verbal misslip like saying the N-Word by accident. He is a player with a long standing track record of sociopathic tendencies, and you voted for him knowing this. In fact, many times him and his predecessor have made it public that their intention is to grief EVE players and ruin their game experience, which is also against the EULA. He merely took it a step too far by crossing the boundaries into real life verbal harassment. Complain to the people who voted for Nixon if you think you should get a re-vote just because you made a poor choice. Next time, exercise better judgement.

Goons are just mad they lost CSM representation. They now want a reelection, but it's not going to happen, their candidate %$(#ed up. At least mittens was man enough to publicly apologize. The rest of GSF should man up and follow his example and go with some grace instead of making the forums a **** storm. The terrible posters are making everyone in GSF look like a whiny teenger.
