In a recent news article, ISD Eumaios Thelousses published the name of a potentially suicidal player and indirectly through a quote called for his harassment. While I approve of your decision to remove the article I see no mention of it in your recent dev blogs. I deplore the actions of The Mittani in makng the original statement but I am very troubled that another representative of your company felt it was appropriate to re-broadcast his words to a far larger audience via the login screen, that his mistake wasn't caught before it was published and that it took almost 24 hours for the article to be removed.

His actions have proven he is unfit to remain in his position and I would expect him to do the correct thing and step down immediately.

The ISD article was written in a mocking tone? Or are you suggesting that it was problematic because it rebroadcast something in a mocking tone? If the first, then certainly the ISD guy should quit. If the second, the issue is different as we are talking about a report. Certainly, leaving the guy's name in might have been considered an error of judgement but let's not play these silly games of equivalency which only have the objective of minimising the significance of the Mittani's actions, eh?

Edit - There's also a bit of context missing from my quote there. Blink

After all the sperg I was forced to endure the past week, this thread remains awfully quiet, considering it's a pretty similar situation as to why Mittani had to step down. Could it be the hypocrites really are just hypocrites? *gasp*

We are required by our constitution to let the voters think they have a choice. That's democracy!

There was no mocking tone, but almost every other news source has managed to report on this without mentioning the victim's name. What we have here is a representative of CCP, acting in their capacity as a representative of CCP to broadcast a call for harassment to a far larger audience than the original statement, using CCP resources on a CCP hosted website. Sure it was probably an error of judgement but you know what, so was the original statement.

What makes this guy immune from having to face the consequences of his actions too?
