Need some help on pod shooting mechanics

Been a long time since I have thought about shooting a pod in high sec.

My question is can I shoot the pod of a ganker in high sec without impact on me moments after Concord blows up his ship?

Don't kill pods in highsec.

Posted on main because I'm not a coward like the rest of you.

Good question, but I don´t think so.

Any criminal act carries the same penealty, no matter what the "victim" has done.
Shooting non war targets is always a criminal act.

If flashy red no problem, if just red you'll take a security hit. Anything else will get you concorded.

Above, and shooting pods, it does not matter whether they are red, flagged or whatever it is criminal offence for anyplace outside of 0.0. Exception being part of your player corp or at war.

To quote Lfod Shi

The ratting itself is PvE. Getting away with it is PvP.

In high sec you can warp scramble a pod if you had aggro on his ship and killed his ship. However you must not *shoot* this pod or you will be concorded. However you can hold him forever for ransom or SD.

You can't shoot a GCC pod you can however shoot him if he's < -5.0 security

Ignore most of the above, they either tell crap or use wrong wording

You can always shoot a pod. That's the most important part to know

It's like saying "don't take loot from a yellow wreck", which is totally idiotic
because what should be said is "take loot from a yellow wreck and the owner can shoot you"

If people actually realized how much crap they are telling
we'd have less idiots not realizing simple game mechanics

Anyway..

In highsec, killing a pod will get CONCORD onto your ass every time
unless he's -5 or lower or a wartarget

Pods, where the ships got GCC and got CONCORDed, are not shootable without punishment

You CAN shoot him, (you can always shoot anything, nothing's keeping you from doing it, except yourself!
but CONCORD will blow up your ass, UNLESS he went -5 with that gank
(VERY dim chance you get that lucky ... i never did and i made a sport out of it !

The only way to shoot pods without punishment is when you're at war with the pilot
or when he's an outlaw, hence -5 or lower

Enjoy your time ! o/

Or if he's in the same player corp as you.

No. You can destroy his ship, you have 28 days to do so. Unless he is -5 or below, in whihc case he become KOS anywhere, including his pod.

Trust me, I almost know what I'm doing.
