Also on the Scourge subject, nice to see it back in the item name.

Now can you fix it in the Description window so it doesn't still say Trauma, tia ? Lol

Newly created characters are impossible to "find" for the purpose of adding to contacts, making a private contract, etc. It used to be when I created a new character I could immediately find them in search or issue a contract to them; now this is not possible, even after some hours.

The only way I can "find" a new character now is to log into the new character, add my old character as a contact, send notification, and then when I get the notification, click on the new character name and add contact. But even after this, when both characters have each others' names in their contact lists, I still cannot issue a contract to the new character (it either refuses to find the new name and says it doesn't exist; or it tries to issue to some other character with a partial name match, and does not offer any option to assign to the character I want, that I just created). Exiting the client, deleting the EVE cache folder, and restarting the client did not fix this issue.

Speaking of which: How about drag and drop from contacts to the private contract name box; or a drop down in the contracts window that pulls from our contact list. That would make it so much quicker and easier when issuing private contracts to corps and parties you work with a lot and have on your contacts list.

Did you guys make any changes to scanning for anomalies? I've noticed that I'm getting a lot more scan deviation than before. Also, normally once you have "ignored other results" you could clear the filter by right clicking and choosing "Clear all ignored results." This option is no longer present and is now accessible from the button only. These things aren't a big deal I am just curious about what you changed :)

Edit: Corrected some typeos :P

Stargates are now named solely for their destination. This means it will now display 'Destination' rather than 'Stargate(destination)'.

I have three main thoughts on this patch;
1: Scourge
2: Effing Scourge
3: SCOURGE EFFING MISSILES ARE BACK

Thanks for bringing Scourge back.

There's one little thing I don't like about the missile and launcher name changes.
You got an almost completely consistant naming system now except that HAMs changed to AMs (including the skill names) but HAMLs are still HAMLs.

I'm aware that some people didn't want the change from HAML to AML, I can only think of 2 possible reasons. First reason would be that HAM is such a nice and traditional acronym. But since HAMs are called AMs now that would be no reason to not rename the launchers to AMLs too.

Second reason would be that AML was a different mod before the patch. But I think it would take maybe a month or 2 till everyone noticed the change and from then on you'd have a completely consistant system. Also the proposed change from HAMs/HAMLs to AMs/AMLs makes perfect sense to make the names more distinguishable from HMs/HMLs.

Anyway, however you decide in the matter of AM vs. HAM I suggest that missiles, skills and launchers should all have the same name.

WHY? Shocked

Edit for contents:
To find the right outgate I need to skim through two columns now.... 'Name' and 'Type'.
I'm looking forward to targeting a gate thinking its a player, as well. 'Sort by name and kill everything except the gates' Yay :)

Did anyone even bother play testing this?

Take something that stood out, made it easy to identify a stargate (and more importantly the right stargate) at a glace and remove it.

Now the stargates in null sec disappear into the list of planet names. What was a half second glace before is now searching up and down to find what you're after.

I like the new missile names in and of themselves, they do help clarify sizes, but the names are kinda long. They are hard to quickly differentiate in your inventory, depending on the column order & width one has. At least that's my experience, YMMV.

Edit(addition): Stargate change complaints--Add another overiew tab, name it "escape" or whatever and design it to be your "need a stargate NOW" tab.

Only briefly played last night and no issues so far. Launcher updated then I got the patch, took about 30 seconds, then quickly got in game.

Regarding the stargates, so far the change hasn't affected me. My primary overview tab is my combat tab and it has no planets/moons listed so finding the gates are easy but I can see how others may find this annoying. Try sorting by icon?

Sick and tired of these launcher problems, another failure to update today because of a corrupt download, fed up of doing a fresh install every other bloody day......

Something wrong with the small overview font, which mainly manifests as it not being small anymore.

I agree on the point that the stargate name in the column made the name stand out for quick reference. I also understand the frustration that was there with the old naming scheme. I propose this: Rather than "Stargate(destination), or simply destination, that it read "Destination (Stargate)", or even "Destination - Stargate". This would re-enable the ability to quickly scan and click on a correct gate, and also preserve the ability to sort by name in a more precise way.

Thank you all for all the work! Smile

Ok I've had time to play around with this and I don't like the mouse over locking the overview. While it might be fine in some situations, when traveling, it's annoying. I need an option to disable this.

I have my overview sorted by distance when traveling, from furthest to closest, so star gates and stuff will be on top, and people entering the system won't move the stargates. Well with the new mouse over locking the overview, here's what's happening that's making it annoying. When you jump through a gate, and you're trying to click the next gate in your route, ships that are coming into the system will come in at the top of the overview, so everything below it move down. In busy systems, I am literally chasing the gate down the overview as new ships are coming into view. I have yet to figure out a sort that stops this behavior, so what I need is an option to stop it from locking the overview when moused over.

I am not quite whether this is a feature or a bug. Since 1.6 I am faced with the problem I can only refine the ores in the cargo of my industrial (ite V) and can not drag them any more into my hangar. It is very comfortable to be enabled directly refine out out the cargo, but in cases (when grinding down a certain amount of ore which is to be refined later once the calculated amount of ore has been reached).

It would be great if one is enabled to drag the ore into ones hangar again.

Kindest regards,

The splash screen... it cannot be put in the background by switching to another program, it cannot be moved out of the way. Of all the programs installed on my computer that have a splash screen it is the only one that cannot be either cancelled with the Escape key or put in the background.

This hijacking of my screen is getting really annoying, especially that I play using multiple clients. Can we have a gentler, better behaved startup, please?
