Serious question for goons...

This is serious, not trying to troll here...

BUT, if you all are in Jita (2000 from what Mittens says) Who is going to be protecting your borders from the many possible invasion forces eyeing it, as all the traders log off and pull the biggest "Blue Ball" in the history of EVE...?

Nobody wants to attack it because what CCP has done is utterly ********.

I'm willing to bet you'd find more of us support him in this than support CCP.

Shhh... don't tell anyone but their plan is to MOVE to Jita. Cause once they go, RDN and NC. will burn Dek so the goonies have no where else to go

I'm sorry, did someone say a "serious" question for Goons?

If you thought about this a little (okay maybe a lot longer) maybe you'd ask yourself this question instead: If no one is doing business in jita, who exactly is getting blue balls?

Notroll response. For for every eve player that is hip to current events there are another 20 who have never seen these forums. There will be plenty to shoot in Jita.

Also: We ran the Gallente Ice interdiction while surrounded by hostile entities that were for the most part still a cohesive force. Most of the cohesion has since shattered, a lot of the northern players that were blue to eachother merely months ago can barely even stand eachother, and most importantly: Home is just a jumpclone away.

We've waged active wars in hostile regions without a friendly station in site to dock in for 15-20 jumps.

Also SOV war doesn't work the way you probably think it does. You are probably imagining some lightning defense erupting out of our stations when we are attacked. Sure that would be nice: But it's not what happens, nor is there any real way to make Eve like that due to the way timezones work. If we are in Jita when someone boils across the borders and reinforces all of our ****, it would be no different than if the majority of us were in bed when they boil across the border and reinforce all our **** (This is pretty much what happens now). We time the towers as best suits us, if we mess up the timing odds are we'll punt (let it roll to the next cycle) if we do it right the enemy if they decide they want to continue on then have to fight: on our terms.

In the long run: they could spend all night reinforcing the important parts of Dek, and we can clean it up the next day. It doesn't require an immediate response.

Maybe because as you said, 2000 in Jita, and 7000 other still at home ?

GSF and CF are not only 2000 ...

The gallente ice interdiction was a joke. The only thing that allowed it to happen was ridiculous game mechanics that made it pathetically easy. Theres just about no way you can be attacked when suicide ganking. You hang out in a station, when your spotter says there is a target, you warp out, kill him and then you wash rinse and repeat. Its not like its a highly skilled activity. There could be 20 guys in that belt trying to stop gankers, and the ganker could still successfully gank. The way the game is setup there are just no real counters to suicide gankers. A couple guys could lock down an entire belt. Its not like it required any real brilliance or huge effort on the goons part. Two guys per belt isn't a big operation or anything.

Locking down Jita will be like moving a boulder compared to the gallente ice interdiction which was more like blowing a grain of sand off your arm.

Also: Similar to what Grath said, a lot of people in 0.0 really hate eachother. The kind of hate that will pit you in a several year long war to the bitter end.

But we also talk to eachother at the higher levels. There is grudging respect. It's not entirely unusual for FC's between two fleets to chat with eachother while shooting at eachother. It's not unusual for "Staged" fights to occur during slow periods. Some of the most fun fleets I ever ran involved us convoing IRC and saying "How about you throw together 200 and we'll throw together 200, no warp offs, meet in ___ system".

What it boils down to is this: I can hate Raiden all day and all night long for basically being BoB Mk4/5/6 whatever. I can hate all of their pilots with a fiery passion. But I have more in common with one of their pilots who puts their **** on the line to fight me than I do some mission running scrublord who's sole purpose in life is to grind out isk so they can fit a slightly better hardener on their deadspace fit Nightmare so they can make an extra 30 isk an hour so they can convert it all to plex and buy pants.

I don't think POS mechanics specifically reinforce timers work the way you think they do.

anything we might (won't) lose while burning jita to the ground will probably get taken back with our hands tied, blindfolded, and in a rifter fleet quite easily.

An honest estimation is this: He's right we're not going to "Lock Down Jita"

It would be too expensive. But we are going to make some really "Bad days" for a lot of people. We're essentially doing what we do best. Applying pressure to a point where we know it will hurt.

Hi, you must be new here. In EVE Online the whole sov system is based on something called timers.

Some of our biggest enemies are actually behind us on this. Most of the people who got really tore up about it all were the ones that got burned by goons at some point, and really took it personal.

If you want a for instance: Last I checked Grath is red to me, and at one point (maybe still) he had a pretty large dislike for Mittens. Yet he's objectively arguing our side.

Firing a volley of 1400mm at a Hulk in a belt is no different than firing a volley of 1400mm at a hauler aligning to warp off a gate.

You asked me once, what was in Room 101. I told you that you knew the answer already. Everyone knows it. The thing that is in Room 101 is the worst thing in the world.
