3 Things comes to my mind when thinking about CCP publicly posted decisions of late, this without any company insight what so ever.

1. Fix What you got and improve on that, fixing bugs, adding new features, rebalancing, designs, performance, unbalance stuff.
(yes unbalancing stuff is a great tool used properly and moderately for revigorating gameplay)

2. Flashyness only works once after that its only decor. Granted most people prefer a good decor, but they will probably choose depth and content over decor any day of the week.

3. The PR and Economy departments are tools, same as Development and Quality Assurance, unbalance them at your own peril.

I don't understand why there are so many negative comments on this thread.

From the point of view of a carebear:
Personally I wanted more Walk in Station updates, sure, its only decor for now, but it will be part of our experience if it allows us to meet eachother in our 3D figures, that itself will be a good player motivation.
If they didn't put in their best effort to finish this part of the EVE Online, I'd call that half arsed and quit.
To me EVE world and space feels too dry harsh to keep staying unless you are a bunch of PvP barbarians.

Also, look at all the other MMO in the market, EVE online and CCP is the only one besides WoW that actually listens to the community, so stop beating them with a baseball bat.

The main reason people are giving CCP a bad rap, would be due to the reason that this thread did not mention what changes they were going to make.

Also some are a little upset that there forum posts regarding needed changes have gone unanswered by the devs, some might feel that CCP DEVs do not care what is posted in the forums, or what people think, so if you were wondering why the hostility, that is why.

Spaceships are all the rage right now, seriously, watch this space.

Call me unimpressed. Been watching this space and seen jack **** as far as information or any thing besides an attempt to build hype.

We have a dev blog that claims to be one of "The moments that define history" and it only refers to a previously published blog where CCP undoes a change that negatively affected game functionality and lets players know that they are thinking of changing the font that people have complained about as illegible for over 7 years. That isn't a definition of the history of EVE or the history of CCP as a company that I would want to highlight. Especially when players are displeased and have stopped playing.

I used to be able to log into my corporation and see more than 20 people in corp chat. I couldn't recall ever being the only person in corp chat. Now that routinely happens. I'm trying a few things in EVE that I hadn't before, like COSMOS, etc. that might rekindle my own interest to log into this game, but I keep hitting things that were left unfixed, broken, or unexciting.

I have found that if I take the graduation certificate missions to the end, the last mission will tell me to speak with an agent that doesn't even exist outside of the database dump. This agent followup has not been finished for 5 years apparently.

I have come across level 3 COSMOS missions that don't give a standings increase or a reward greater than a few thousand isk. Joy.

I get to see people in an NPC corp that put a rattlesnake in a high sec plex with their sentries 50 km out, and walk away to milk the ISK all day long as the enemy battleships keep respawning and providing them with Risk free $ all day long.

Speaking of which, the fact that people get 3 strikes before they are banned for running bots still leaves me with a bad taste in my mouth. If you warn them once and they knowingly do so a second time, do they really deserve a third attempt? Is CCP really that willing to put the desire for $15/month that far ahead of the stability of the much vaunted player driven market?

When you say "Ships" are you planning on balancing motherships or black ops? finding ways to get people to fly them into low sec? making t3 frigates? looking at e-war frigs? looking at the 4th bonus for assault ships? making a ship for gas harvesting? or just trolling?

This game is dying the death of a thousand little cuts. Nothing is so horrible by itself that players can't ignore or brush it off. People are always willing to forgive a few minor things: we don't expect perfection, but we do expect to see improvement. However, as of late, there hasn't been much improvement and the little cuts have begun to drain away this game's vitality. Tell us what you are going to fix, stop rephrasing that trademark "Big things are happening Soon," and maybe people might want to play.

Meh. CCP took out massive loans to build WoD and Dust. They probably made delivery promises to go along with those loans. It's not as simple as snapping your fingers and moving devs back to where we all want them. They probably have to negotiate later delivery times and possible financial incentives with their investors. There are many reasons why they may not be ready to 'go public'. Legal departments have a great way of slowing everything up.

Anyone who's had to work in a customer service business realizes that when a customer walks in and you can't get to them right then and there - at the very least you should make eye contact, acknowledge their presence, and promise to be right with them. That's customer service 101 and that's all this dev blog was. It's the anger and resentment that goes along with 18 months of neglect that make it insufficient. What?

More empty promises in flashy dev blogs. CCP has to get cracking on some actions fast or it's going to be too little, too late. Stop talking and do it. I don't think you will.

I certainly hope for your sake CCP, that you are sincere about this, and I hope your planning on removing microtransactions. Your actions and behavior the last couple of years (especially in the last few months) have pushed a large portion of your subscribers and a lot of external media to the extremes of cynicism.

Personally, I'm not going to hold my breath. I've waited 3 1/2 years for the ever-promised industry expansion to no avail. Nullsec obviously needs to be fixed, but after that please do something about industry.

I installed Freelancer a couple of weeks ago and it was refreshing after 6 years of eve.
Fast action
Fast learning curve
Fast high action short missions
Enough trading routes
Nice to find some Nomad guns

Eve just gets boring after 6 years. It's becomming a slow bohemoth.
I suggest ccp play more of these games to get some inspiration.

Good point, we were promised that botting would be heavily attacked.

Infact it seems to be the only area of growth in the entire game. Also there's been zero follow up on this after all the fanfare in the past.

Yet another broken promise.

CCP Zulu tries to play the community like a cheap piano. Shoots self in foot. More at the top of the hour as the story develops.
