You do know that if you have a fit saved in your fitting dialog and you have the modules in your hangar you can change your entire fit with basically one click

How about this: I'd love the ability to build and save fits without owning the ship and modules. This way I could build out a fitting, save it, and when I need it just assemble the ship and load the fitting.

Expanding on that idea, it would be REALLY great if the system could tell me whether I have all the necessary items in my local hangar or whether I need to buy something else.

Even better is if they add "search assets" to right click on items, so that I can open a fit, find that I'm missing one item, and immediately search my assets list to see if I have that nearby.

I could carry this one for at least several more ideas, but I'll stop here. I think I need to write up a "little things" suggestion for UI improvements.

and did you know you can import fits for ships you do not have and modules you do not have from EFT or Pyfa into your fitting dialog, I'm not sure about this because I'm not home where I can check it but I'm pretty sure when you browse fits if you do not have a module it may be greyed out or in some way marked. Again not sure about that last part.

Yes, but I rarely use saved fittings for my fits, and it doesn't help new players at all who don't know about the feature.

I keep my hangar well organized with all modules stacked/repackaged at all times, thus refitting 8 guns everytime I want to switch is very tedious when you have many stacks and many guns to fit.

As I've said before if you want to make a larger more encompassing post about the ease of fitting ships and modules go for it, I'll respond in kind. However, for this thread, the topic is a small minor tweek, as I've said in the original post, and I desire to keep the discussion on said topic, and the pros/cons of said idea.

Discrediting the idea because it isn't Idea X that you thought up that is a larger more involved process about fitting ships is erroneous, and essentially without a use in this thread.

Of course I can build something in EFT or Pyfa and import it. But why should I need to use a third-party application to construct a fitting? It should be a relatively simple modification to allow us to build and save fittings without owning the ship and modules.

How about an UNSTACK option for items in your hangar... that way you could unstack those 8 guns, select them all then hit fit to ship.

Of course if you unstacked 20 or 200 instead it's real simple afterwords to restack everything in the hangar.
