Im new to eve, like less than a week, just loved everything so much i bought an account. Then last night i wanted some playing isk so i bought a plex (yay pay check) and sold it for 370mil, and i was doing price checks in the market and i see some guy buying slaves for 2.8 mil each
And i jumped on that so hard. So i get there and realize he is only taking 150 units at a time. And i noticed there was someone selling them at the same station for less than what he was buying, So i was like SCORE! and bought them right up
This is when i should have realized i was ******.

But hell, i wanted a few mil for nothing.
I bought the slaves i needed and pulled up the sale menu, it all looked fine.... then when i clicked sell i was out 4 mill (taxes). Checked my wallet getting ready to scream for joy when..... milliseconds before i hit buy the guy canceled the order...

So.... i just basically got scammed out of $20. I am just so furious right now, probably not going to resub.

was streaming because i wanted to see if i could survive being "attacked" by concord when i didn't want to give up my slaves. And my friend wanted to watch.

Stream: scam at 12:00 (sorry for my obnoxious music during most of the video, and i was on skype/talking in a chatroom i hang out in)
If only i didnt have ADHD i would have gotten my 200mil...

The sell menu right before the big score

Has anyone proposed making Margin Trading scams affect buyers' Security Status and or NPC Station owning corp Standings?

This would allow sellers to check security status before trying to sell or buy to such scammers ... while still allowing the play style to exist.

I've been looking for forum entries mentioning such since it seems like something that would have been suggested before ...

Why should people be punished for the stupidity of others?

Why do you assume it's stupid to accept an innocent looking market order? If your margin trading scams are obvious and easily detectable, you wouldn't be a very good scammer would you?

And why assume a society as sophisticated as EVE's, wouldn't even have a credit rating/tracking functionality?

Sorry still stand by my quote, everytime anybody asks new player questions about EVE one of the main answers is always "If it looks to be good to be true...." And as always the first thing people say previous to the scam is "It looked like a good deal and I could make some money"
