Pretty much this.

Yes they were all drunk. Yes stuff like this gets spouted out half-serious on every other voice-coms on "no pants" ops.

But, getting drunk at an official CCP event, an event ment to market the "industry breaktrough" that combining PS3 and PC platforms in one universe is. One universe, with a group of player-voted persons at the helm with CCP – doing crap like this is going to get picked up by the global media.

CCP will have to decide if they prefer giving some groups of EVE the option to treat the CSM as an extension of their internet-based meme-loving, subculture communities – or if they want to use the CSM in professional marketing bursts.

Marketing a system, that has participants who say stuff like; "Also incidentally, if you want to make the guy kill himself..." is not going to happen.

The global media does not care about tongue in cheek internet spaceship nerd humor. To them this is a headline about those "violence promoting things called video games".

I wonder if showing this to government people in Australia, would actually give them a leg to stand on and manage for the game hating politicians to completely ban online games.

Ok, a lot of people seem to be hung up on this suicidal dude.

My personal thoughts, which are bound to irritate someone, is that anyone announcing that they are going to commit suicide is not nearly depressed enough to actually do it. Its an attention seeking ploy. Usually, if the ploy fails, the person will come out of it a more rounded individual, a little more aware that the world isn't pivoting about them. We all went to school so we all know that this **** happens. I will admit that this isn't always the case and some of these souls actually go through with it and kill themselves, but why should one person be dragged down publicly because he makes some drunk comments about a whiny, attention-seeking whore? Who's balls haven't dropped.

Now, I am pretty sure Mittani only said these things recently, so what else has he done besides covertly sabotaging all Titans in the Galaxy and baiting child into carrying out their ill-conceived threats (indirectly by the looks of the extract)?
