So had been away from game for not too long (a month or so) and when I logged back on I had some new patches to install. So went ahead and installed them thinking there wouldn't be a problem. Installed the lastest patch and boom was back in game. Then my client crashes. I figured it was a bug and then noticed it was another patch... installed that. Now it doesn't allow me to log in... the status of the server is "unknown."
I know it usually does that when you don't have the lastest patch... which I do...
So what did I miss???

Maybe something went wrong due to ressources not being freed. Tried to repair the client? Also delete (or rename) your cache folder.

The wrong client version results in an "Incompatible Protocol" server message. "Unknown" plain and simple means that for some reason, the client could not connect to the server at all. During the daily downtime (11:00 to 11:30 GMT), this would be normal as the server is not available in the first place, but it usually should be up at any other time.

Check your firewall, as some of them invalidate their rules if the executable file changes (which may happen during a patch). Make sure that the server is actually online (i.e. by looking at the server graph on our homepage, in the lower right corner). If the server goes down unexpectedly, there will usually be an according announcement in our forums as well after a very short time.
