umm check this vid it's part of the fan fest , the bloodline blending part is towards the end at 5:30 of the vid..(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RMCd3joyvDA&feature=related). it's more of a cosmetic thing for your avatar instead of choosing a amarr or gallente or caldari or minmatar you can choose something of a mix to build your model ... which is kina cool.
i know the blood line has no effects on attributes and so on, but am talking as in a role play kind of way... for example i choose my bloodline Gallente>Gallente>immigrants cause i wanted to make up a story that my ancestry is Minmatar for example but in the old system i couldn't make a mix between the 2 races but if they are going to apply this upgrade it will be possible so my question is will it be possible for old chars to renew their model, i only have one account and one char i don't want to make a lot really so am sticking to this one ..either way..

Think the idea when mentioned had a Q&A session where this came up.

If i recall correctly the view was to make it open ended for everyone to apply forbidden love in the future.

Also gender change, but a view here was to potentially charge for this feature.

This.
Also, not sure, but you'll be able to change your gender.

I hope that it will unlock clothes/haircuts of both the races you choose.

Well only if it means when I get to choose a mix of caldari and Amarr... I get to redo my hair with a white MoHawk.

Doesn't gender change potentially cause a TON of problems?

I mean, OK, gender change itself isn't bad. But what happens to the player name? Free rename, since we don't want female characters named Richard. Kinda wrecks the whole accountability for your actions thing.

I don't think game currently prevents naming your female char as Richard, so why should it do that with gender change?

I don't mind not allowing gender change, but if it is allowed just make char keep old name.

i hope this is enabled as in paying plex or something for remodeling your char how it looks bloodline and so on, but when it comes to names it will cause loads of problems .. so i think they should just keep it to how the char looks ..

but also there is a question of they made bloodlines changeable, will that mean that char's can change their entire race change as in Amarr entirely to Caldari ? or just if you're amarr you add another race dna to change your looks ... ?

either way i want to be Minmatar... or at least with a minmatar Bloodline somewhat lol

Well as one of Eves newest transsexuals, you could just explain in chat that your male name was Richard but you prefer to be called Hulga now.

It's not clear yet how we will roll this out, but it's likely that it will not be available to new characters as all the options might be overwhelming for a little noob.
The idea is that you will keep your bloodline (if you are Khanid, you will still be Khanid after the blending) but can just mix a little bit of the other bloodline with your current bloodline.

Maybe we can visit each other in captains quarters and have babies or just use DNA samples (I still have plenty of Kruul's DNA).

Anyway we'll be able to tell from a character's info that they're mixed, in the 'Description' tab?

I guess there's a couple of ways to go if you really must keep it from noobs...

  1. Hide the blending under an "advanced options" section somehow...
  2. Make it require cloning skills and visits to a gene doc at a station...

Regarding item 2 there... How cool would it be if you could go to another player known to be skilled in the art and have them make a custom clone genetype to order for you (which we could choose to accept or reject)?
