Skill Forgetting system:

Had an idea bout the skill forgetting system. pilot has an ability to choose rather choose to forget a skill than leave it as a lvl 0.
For example:
If i wish to forget a skill [Caldari BattleShip level 3]
just right click it
Show Info

View Market Details
Find in Contracts

Train Now to Level 4 (takes *d ** h ** m **s)
Train After Current Queue (Level 4)

Forget skill
Advantage:
1.looks good..Big smile
2.able to sell a good price once you have a clean skill list

Punishment:
Once pilot choose to forget one skill, every skill point base on that skill would lost FOREVER.
let's see, if I wish to forget [Caldari BattleShip], I would lost at least 64,000 skill points FOREVER.

Suggestion of Switch character

It is freak slow to change from one character to the other, it completely freak me out sometimes, i wish CCP could decrease the time or find a way to change characters fast
Such as pilots haven't to log off and relog in again, they just need to exit to the character select page
Add a tiny button beside the log off and call "switch" Smile

Good suggestion the first one... i just trained amarr cruiser lvl 5 and it could be great to remove it again as i dont have any amarr cruisers.

What is the purpose of "forgetting a skill"?

Cheaper clones?

Mostly I would say, looks good
On the other side, a clean skill list, would easily get a high price while you sell the character, at least I would. Unpurpose way to train the skill would make the skill list disgasting

So you would pay a higher price for a char that has less skills???? I have a scanner alt who hase nearly no skills.... eve-mail me, I would be willing to charge you a ridiculously high price for it.

To be honest, I don't believe the game needs anything else that panders to the buying and selling of characters. If it was up to me there I would have a system that makes it impossible to buy or sell character. (yes i know it wouldnt be possible to implement, but I can dream can't I)

Shocked Oh Jesus, it is not like that.. Oh my god, I mean A CLEAN SKILL LIST is important. I am not a fool who spent 20 billion isk on a 1mil sp character anyways.
That's just my idea. Eve universe is the highly simulated world, polit can trade, communicate, fight, blah blah blah. Why can't they forget? Everything and anything is forgettable, right?

I like this idea. Not because I want to sell my character, but because some of us are anal and want to clean up our skill list of skills we where given or trained as a newbie.

Since there is no benefit, like refunding skill points. I don't see this harming the current system any way. Though I would add some safe guards.

- 24 hours pass before the skill is forgotten permanently. OR after server downtime.
- Make sure you get a eve-mail confirmation.
- Should have to check a box in the options menu to enable this in the UI.

Reason I suggest the above is because there will be plenty of people who probably end up unlearning stuff by mistake. I doubt CCP wants to deal with these extra petitions of fixing peoples mistakes. This also might be the only reason it has not been done already.

Why do I have this sig? I don't smoke.

Guys I really can't understand you. Why lose skillponts? It makes no sense at all! 1 kk isk diference in the clone price is that much? Also, there are no uselles skills, it is you that don't know how to play.

And why clear the skill lists? You get lost on them? too much information for you?

1. Configure your skill list or lern how to use the character sheet. Or propose changes for CCP about the menu.

2. How can a char with less skill worth more then a char with the same skills and some more? I mean, each skill have a value, so If you focused your training you will have a char that worth more then a char that didn't because of the individual values of the skills. You can increase the avarange value/SP removing missplaced skills. But you will get a lower absolute value and your char! It will have a lower vallue! And why someone would want to have a lower vallue?

3.You can go get podded without clone until you are satisfied =D or you can reprocess your char and make a new one...It have the same effect!

4. This feature would not aggregate value to the game. It is better a new ships then a new problem.

5. And to forget things in real life? It makes sense? No. The universe is a hard place. those who wish to forget things need therapy...

This would be a CS nightmare. "Mr. GM, I accidentally deleted my skills, can I ahz them back nao?"

Combined with the lack of need, I don't see CCP giving this any attention.

My gallente blaster boat pilot has a couple skills that really annoy me

Skills from the following trees come to mind . . .

Mining* -> What am embarrassment . . .
Missile* -> Missiles are for pilots without the Balls/Ovaries to MWD their glass cannon into blaster range.

I will NEVER use either of these skills again.
They look like crap sitting next to my level 5 skills

Every time I see them in the skill sheet I
a) Remember what is was like to be a total noob (maybe this isn't so bad)
b) Wish there was some way to make them disappear.

I don't care if you want to delete skills, that's up to you, but a significant number of players would love the ability to delete skills. It doesn't provide any advantage and makes a significant portion of the player base happy. Why not do it???

Yes training up skills that I will never use to level 5 is even more logical than deleting them.

And they still just sit there . . . mocking me . . .

If the problem is that they make your skill sheet “ugly”, yes. It solves the problem without the need for any game changes or GM headaches.

how does it solve the ugly problem?

The missile skills are still there and nothing is uglier than missile skills . . .

What he said. ^
It doesn't hurt anyone, and makes some players happy.

If anything, it's advantage to those of you that don't clean up or delete your skills, because now we have less skills to use against you.
